Thanks - Almost there

I found it under Options->Directories->Executables and then included the python directory. I tried first using python22, but then this caused some errors, so I went back to python20 where I have Python 2.0.1 installed. Here is what I get. It now finds the python.exe file under in c:\python20 correct...

python.exe issue during build

I am using your instructions for compiling blender and when I do the build_install_all win 32 release, it starts to build put then at the very end, I get an error that it cannot find Python. I am using python 2.2.2 and have verified that python.exe is on the path, since I can execute it in any CMD (...

issue with 2.23

Thanks, Ingie:
As the problem occurs on only one machine, and given
that 2.25 and 2.26 work great on both machines, I guess
I'll just not worry about 2.23.

2.23 Crash (but not 2.25)

I have a strange problem with 2.23 but only on one machine. At home, I can launch both 2.23 and 2.25 without problems. At work, I can launch 2.25, but when I try to launch 2.23, I get a crash with what appears below. Both machines run Windows XP Pro. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 2.23 a...

bf-blender

yes, you right - I am using publisher 2.25. When you say, it is fixed in 'bf-blender', is there perhaps a Windows binary that is available for this, or can it be easily built? To date, I have not tried any of the more exotic binaries built by individuals since I was thinking that the blender foundat...

New View Mappings?

It took me a while to understand the basic 3D layout of Blender's working area, mainly due to two things: 1) the somewhat odd naming of the T,F, and S windows and the default RotX 90 degrees (which affects the local axes and orientation of object reference frames). Item # 1 My intuition is as follow...

Blender Texture Disc?

Does anyone have suggestions on where to go for a nice solid set of textures broken down by material or other category? In doing a search, I see that NaN used to sell something called "Blender Texture Disc" but I don't see it anywhere. Here is the original page: http://www.digitalanimators.com/2001/...

binding a camera to the 3D view

After reading through all the docs, I cannot see an easy way of binding a camera to the 3D view one achieves through CTRL, SHIFT, middle-mouse button (MMB), thus translating, rotating, and scaling the interactive view in the 3D window. It would seem natural to define camera positions interactively b...

Retrieving Parameteric Geometry from Blender

I am asking a student to work on an X3D exporter for Blender (note: X3D is an XML-based successor to VRML 2.0). In doing this, the Python API would appear to be the logical choice, but I have a very basic question: can one get parametric information for all geometry objects in Blender? By "parametri...

2.23 to 2.25 converter?

Since the Python API has changed, apparently, is there
a Python file converter from 2.23 to Publisher (2.25)? I
looked around the net, and coudn't easily locate one, so
maybe it doesn't exist.

Python "Const" attribute error

I am trying to run the nice Python script located at: http://www.blenderbuch.de/tutor/python1/python1_eng.html At first, I had the problem of "whrandom" not being found, and then after reading this group realized that I needed to intall Python, which I did. Now, the script (Listing 1) goes successfu...

Where is the spec for import/export?

I'd like to get some students on project to do, for example, X3D export and import but it isn't clear where the spec is, and after reading this thread, I don't see evidence of a document for defining the Blender scene graph. Is there one? Any help would be appreciated. I see that some people have cr...

Mouse Button + Screen Redraw Issues

There are two problems I have had with 2.23: 1) When using a MS Intellipoint Explorer (optical mouse), I am unable to use ALT-LMOUSE to do anything. There is no middle mouse button (as for just about all mice I have used), and the mouse control panel does not have an option to set one of the side bu...
