Never had any trouble with it, at all. Moving stuff accidentaly would happen either way, cuz my mid finger is unstable and right-clicks without my permission a lot. But it certainly boosted my learning curve in blender and I've never seen any situation where it would be less useful. And on the contr...

:D Half-Life 2 is only around 15€. I forgot to mention that the content of the sdk (models and textures, mostly) will vary, it will depend on what Valve game(s) you have. If you have hl2dm, then you have a good portion of stuff from HL2, but I dunno how it will work if you want to make a single play...

I don't know the tools for HL1 engine, nor how to get them. But I assume the only way to get them, if they're still available, is the same way as to get Source Engine tools. By buying a game from Valve. So you have to spend money in some game if you want any of the two. The tools are free to downloa...

That's a nice menu there. I only glanced at the files yet. Felt a bit confused, I'm not so used to python scripts. But I'll try to make some sense out of them and see if I can make something happen. I want it on the right-click too, since it'll make that button useful for more than just curso...

I did that too right from the begging :D I felt way too unconfortable with right-clicking to select. If it wasn't for that option I wouldn't be blendering untill today. ;) As for the grab key, I actualy got used to it. I dunno, I think I thought blender was kinda weird sometimes when using that, so ...

ok, I remembered I don't use the right-mouse button to select and so the 3d cursor placement is automaticaly swaped to the right-mouse. So it was working fine. But now I tried with the option to use right-mouse to select, and it didn't work cuz the cursor placement was obstructing it. I dunno if you...

hmmm, the 1st time I tried it, it didn't work. But I think I was doing something wrong cuz after trying again it worked with mid mouse button, and left mouse button, with numpad1, 2 and 3. But there seems to be some bug associated with the zooming, that after releasing the mouse button, it starts ro...

Or maybe it would be a good time to update the tutorials? Cuz I don't think it would be a good idea to have ppl downloading all the versions of blender for each tutorial. That's a pain. I didn't went through that so much cuz I started from some version only a little bit higher than those of the tuto...

hmm, that's interesting info. Maybe can even achieve a quad menu? Even if not, may be handy to check out. Thx The keymap search should also have an option to search for the keys themselves tho. Would be easier to find conflicts if one doesn't know all the actions associated with a certain key. Dunno...

2.5 two questions (about UI and a hotkey)
I just started playing around with 2.5 and I noticed 2 things. I tried right clicking the window headers like in the previous versions of blender, but nothing happens. At least yet. The only window that has the header on top is the Properties window, but cloning it and changing to another one revert...

I agree with this. Having the option to define a prefered (or needed) measurement unit is a must. I do models for games and I often find myself turning my brain into a calculator because I need to convert blender units into whatever other type of units I need. Fortunately, when I'm modeling for Valv...

You can't make a CSS map in blender. Any type of Source Engine maps are made in the Source SDK provided with any Source Engine based game (Hl2, CSS, TF2, etc). Basically, all the geometry, AI, interaction, and map optimization is made in Source SDK. There's some good tutorials on youtube for that, b...
