That must be it, yeah.

You are making a really ignorant impression, Thorax.

If you don't have the time for it, I would be happy to take a look at that on an evening this week, should take me no more than 15 minutes so it's no problem at all. I would be really thankful - I just don't want to scroll a page for 15 minutes just because some people think the best way of doing l...

Depends on what you want to do there will always be limitations with stuff you don't write yourself. Basically it's still no "point-click-make-game" system, if you want something complicated you might need to code stuff in python. Maybe if you elaborate what you'd want to use it for (or what your ex...

DragonWitch just asked whether the GameKit will be/stay useable as far as GameBlender functionality is concerned - and it will. There's no need for a Blender 3.0 game functionality discussion here, please. It just confuses people asking simple questions!

I think the main goal for Blender 2.x development, right now, it to get the functionality back to where it was before it went opensource. I think the parts of the game engine that were mising went opensource as well and as for the rest it shouldn't change dramatically in the near future. Changing Bl...

I don't know whether the US publisher found out about it in time to fix it, but it's not really "dangerous" since it's an outlook file - so as long as you work with .blend files there should be nothing to worry about.

Blender may implement several communications technologies but if Blender is to ever integrate with super computers and industrial class machines it will need a CORBA interface.. Whatfor? Couldn't Blender be compiled on these machines and access their "extended" functionality that way? It would cert...

Either he did an analysis and found out that it's not an optimal solution or he just didn't want to.

Jamesek: By "environment" I actually mean the basic application design (how it works under the hood). To make a solid working design takes time, but if the coders have a lot of input on the problems the artists want solved they can develop that in the right direction. We basically agree anyway.

a protocol too.. Is it??

Using the web analogy, Verse is HTTP and NGB is a browser that renders/edits the HTML it gets from HTTP. NGB can be anything between Mozilla and Konqueror as far as the complexity goes.

I think the whole user/coder interaction has a lot to do with momentum. At the beginning, when there will be not much one will be able to do with NGB, coders might want to have their "environment" up and running before implementing features and that might be percieved as reluctance to add features b...

I have no problem with experimentation, but to me that is precisely what this "verse" things is about: experimentation. In my eyes, it is not going to be the actual Blender 3.0. Well, duh! What difficulty do people have understanding what Verse is? It's a protocol for moving 3D data around, for chr...
