Notes so far

Hi all,

I've worked all day to improve my kitchen, so I'm a bit too tired for long rants today. Anyway, here are all my notes so far including a preliminary planning:

Unless im completly mistaken, PAL and NTSC signals are put out by the dvd player themselves, not the encoded into the disc. DVD is mpeg2 which has been on computers for a long time. However VHS on the other hand is really the finished product, nothing has to be decoded, a VCR is only an amplifier. ...

Re: CommunityReel 2003

i really like the idea! but there is a lot of work to do. can you say what style of soundtrack you think would be useful? just a general background "noise" or soundtrack depending on the kind of movies? florian I think just a 'general background soundtrack' would be ok. Some movies will of course h...

Hi Shay, Thanks for the suggestion! I have no idea if there's a difference between PAL and NTSC DVD's, but I'll find out.. Anyway, everyone should be able to play it so if we need to make another version, so be it. Still, given the schedule of making such a DVD in under two months, let's first focus...

CommunityReel 2003

Hi, as a contribution for the "blender movie/art festival" at the Blender Conference I would like to create a 'community showreel' with the coolest art (animations, stills, videos of interactive productions) made by the Blender community. This showreel would come in the form of a 1- 1.5 hour (?) DVD...

Hi,

I just converted an old Blender tutorial and added it to the Blender Manual:

http://download.blender.org/documentation/html/

Look for the chapter 'Saving your work' in the 'Linear 3D'section.

Have fun,

Guidelines are ok!

PS: You were right - I *did* think that it would be similar to NaN's functional requirements board. I was quite surprised to see it since it never worked there, either ;-)

That's not how I read the post - I hope you're right. But still, it's the coders who are doing all the work in their free time. To put it bluntly: why should they care about what a FuBo or a group of users decide? Personally (but that might be just me), I would just do whatever I like to do and if t...

but...

How do you 'decide' anything in an open source project? It seems to me that the only decisions that can be made are afterwards: - is this feature useful enough to be included in the official sourcetree? - is this new stuff coded well enough to be included in the official sourcetree? - will this brea...

New chapter + question

Hi, a new version of the manual is available on http://download.blender.org/documentation Changes: - added Radiosity description from the old 'complete' pages - added 2.26 changelog - fixed lots of images size problems in the PDF version The question: I would like to add lists of 'resources' to each...

Basse, that is useful, and could be integrated in the manual, if you want to share/contribute you can contact Alexander. Have a look on the bf-docboard mailing list archives for more info Stefano The point is, that this hotkeylist was made by Joeri, not Basse (great job to post it as your own!). So...

Re: DocBook under Win

XMLIndent doesn't have a Windows version either. :( I have found a free tool called XMLEditPro that seems pretty simple to use. I tried loading the style guide online but a couple files have parsing errors, especially the appendencies. Matter of fact all the tools I use have a problem with that fil...
