Series 60 phones are at least as powerful, or more so, than the iPaq on which Blender was demonstrated. They also have a smaller screen resolution to update. The integer maths issue should be surmountable, although it would be a lot easier/quicker if that library was opened . . . Whilst PocketPCs ten...

Mobile phone 3D plugin?

Hello, I was just thinking it might be interesting to start thinking about getting the game engine bits running on mobile phones? Am I alone in being interested in this? (A port to Nokia Series 60 for a start . . . ) I seem to remember this was why the iPaq port was done, but some of the clever stuf...

Yep. This DVD would be region-free, obviously! It could be that some dvd-players don't play region-free dvd's btw,.. I think I read something about that once when unlocking my own dvd-player. But I am not sure if it is actually the case, and if it is how many players don't do that. Annoyingly enoug...

There's one of a guy doing a kick and hitting into something and jumping off. It's clearly being done in real time, as both the talent of the animator using it, and the softwares abilities are quite obvious.

The other simply scary one is the woman dancing.

The animanium videos have shocked me as well. The speed the animators are working at, and getting such good results I think will change the industry.

I have had the 'X' pressed, since I need to have no time difference for my use for it, but it then renders the (same) envmap twice for each frame. EDIT: as regards the 'static scene' just to say that I encountered the artefacts without movement, whereas had not 'X' been pressed I'd know you'd get th...

I'd certainly say that's out of the scope of Blender. The amount of effort that needs to be put in to get good results is quite silly, hence how most modern music sequencers work. VST plugin support though  that might be useful, although my personal feeling is tools like Audiomulch combined w...

Minor issue with Field rendering and env maps

Hello! I've been doing some work which needs field rendering. And for reasons I won't go into I don't want a time difference between fields . . . the problem is I also have an envmap, and Blender insists on recalculating it for both fields, even though it will be the same, so if someone could implem...

Oooo. Interesting area this. I can see easily what you're all saying, but I'm with thorax, you don't want to go down the route of supporting Cg, only for it to get superceded later. Some sort of intermediary layer is going to be required, probably from outside Blenderland. I do think that the good c...

Creating separate passes

I've been thinking, and concluded it would be nice if Blender could do the modern output several different layers for each render bit, so you could have one layer of diffuse rendering, one for specular, one for ambience etc. It might be possible with Python to alter materials then render but my idea...

I only know PAL wrt this. That PAL 16:9 preset is anamorphic widescreen, no extra settings needed, it just renders using different shaped pixels (slightly wide, which is exactly how widescreen works obviously). As a minor aside here, most european post houses (when not doing HD, so most of the time ...

Sorry, but that really is way too dark. As has been said, move your monitor settings around first. And working in dark rooms with isolated bright areas is very bad for your eyesight, because your irises open and you can burn your retina. Seriously I strain to see that interface much more than the Bl...

This is indeed great. A couple of thoughts . . . How about having ipos as value generators? Obviously it would have no effect in your program, but inside Blender that would be a great way for animating materials. Sequence editor? This modified would also make a cracking new sequence editor interface...

Sequence editor overhaul

I was undecided as to where to post this, so my apologies if you feel its inappropriate in this location. I've been thinking about the areas of Blender that could do with substantial improvement, and one that sticks out is the sequence editor. Now I do like the current sequence editor, and it fulfil...

I have a feeling I've encountered this. I have a TNT2, and Blender crashed when I upgraded the graphics card drivers. Basically I'm stuck running the drivers that came with the computer (which had the card when I got it) since the nVidia driver, with that thing in the system tray by default, caused ...
