Truedisplacement map coming soon

Crossposting from http://www.kino3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9985#9985 This is a preview of a python script developed by me and my friend Alessandro Braccili, to make true displacement with Blender. Originally this idea was to improve the realism of MakeHuman model, without re-modelling the Base me...

Great work Strubi.
These are the most wanted features.
Now Blender is really complete and powerful.

Only 2 questions.
Using Xmesh, there are compatibility problems with the python
Nmesh structure?

XMesh will be in B2.28 ? 8)
I can't wait...

Thx,

Manuel

To call draw funct from ext module

I've two modules: 1) the main.py, with the draw and register functions. 2) evaluator.py, a module with various functions. From main.py, I import and use evaluator module, it's OK. But...if I want call the draw function in a loop internal to evaluator? I must import the main.py in the evaluator.py li...

Mhh...it's hard to fix? Dunno, good question -- I spent about an hour on it then got sleepy. I may try again soon ... (I have one compiled for linux that might work). Regards, Chris :( I hope you solve the problem and make a webplugin for I.E. soon However: many thanks...your ODE integration is a g...

Stupid question: why this version is 5+ mega, and the "normal" version
is 1.8 mega?

Blender, along with many, many other 3D renderers doesn't really do physically corrent illumination. The radiosity solver might perhaps do so, but I wouldn't trust that. The radiosity model must be based on physical model: the energy transmission. Links ---> http://www.winosi.onlinehome.de/ ---> ht...

Something that could be done relatively easily would be to allow the emit value to have a range much larger that 0.0-1.0. Then you could interperete the values as watts. After all, you can interperete the values however you want to. Calling them "watts" is just an issue of adding a label :) To use ...

And a request: it's possible modify the "emit" parameter in a "real" phisical variable (I.E watt, or watt/s, etc...) to use the radiosity in technic simulation? I'm sure that could be done. However, there are some more complex issues as work. For instance, just because the values represent watts do...

emit and radiosity

Hi! Sorry for my poor english  I'm not C expert...but I'm try to understand the tie between the emit material parameter and radiosity. I want understand what's the phisical meant of emit parameter. The goal is to use emit to make a realistic (and, of course technical) simulation of a specific ...

Re: Oren-Nayar-Blinn material model Blender version.

but I am not going to commit it because I have bigger plans for the material system. Thanks! I've a question: the new material system in your plans will be compatible with old material library? And a request: it's possible modify the "emit" parameter in a "real" phisical variable (I.E watt, or watt...
