Something that will retain individual mesh SubSurf settings and then turn them all OFF in one go. Then back on again. Almost like having them all turned off for anim...

How about a global SubSurf button?

What would be an absolute benefit is a SubSurf button that will turn ALL meshes subsurf on or off in one go. It would save having to go to each mesh and having to turn it on to do some modelling then off again to do some animating. The eyes, the head, the shirt, the socks, the shoes it becomes quite...

I had the same problem with XP, Updated the video card driver and got it to work perfectly.

Some cards are better than others, I dumped my SIS and got a GeForce. Much better. By far

There can be no other problem, it's got to be an OGL issue.

Cheers...

I am part of a team of animators who have just started out on a long term project. Naturally the choice of software is a task I would rather not have been assigned with. SO many choices. After looking at the various options, 3DS, LW, Maya etc. we chose blender, for very good reasons: 1) Multi platfo...

Mel_Q I am not sure if you know this, but your build crashes if the scene uses a backbuf image. I can open the scene if I choose the "Open..." option, but crashes on Render. Well hangs actually. If I chose "Reopen last..." I cant even get to the render stage. I havent checked this on the other build...

I love the "saved poses" idea. Fantastic.

The rest also, brilliant.

With ideas like these Blender is really going to kick butt.

I can only guess, its probably got something to do with the True Type Fonts or Quicktime.

Something that needs loading on startup.

Thorax: Thanks once again. And for your advice on Casio purchases :) I think, after going through all the other forums, its almost time for rotational constraints. Well should I say it IS time for rotational constraints. and I guess Money_YaY! sums it all up: If blender were more powerful you would ...

Thorax: I find the concept of stickies and single chain IK's Fascinating. Would posing fingers for instance, be a good time to use single chain IK? After reading what you have said, I think you have helped me with the current Blender problem. A mixture would probably be the best for a biped rig. I c...

Hos I agree that the IK system is frustratingly slow. And I dont think it is anything to do with the mesh as such. Well it can be, but even without a mesh anywhere, just an armature, it still can be sluggish. For example. Take one of your projects that are currently on your site. Strip out all but t...
