Yes, what we forgot to mention: it would probably work best when people can work in their own language. The quality of text would benefit from it a lot. What we then need to find is people willing to translate this... so it would be a good idea to have submissions in from both translators as authors...

Welcome to the Summer of Documentation!

This forum is the starting point to discuss the organization and execution of the "Summer of Documentation" project. The Blender Foundation offers 10 grants of 500 EUR each for people providing a substantial addition to our documentation online. Timothy (timmeh) Wakeham has volunteered to coordinate...

Sorry, the web admins were trying to get all our urls to use blender.org (some were still doing blender3d.org), and that caused the shop to not work anymore...

I've disabled it temporally, will post here when it's online again. Probably this evening.

Re: Feature Request: Renderers linked to compositing nodes

The problem comes in with creating new objects since they aren't automatically duplicated across both scenes. (Please correct me if there is an easier way :P ). Use the option to link objects, that makes sure all data becomes shared. To prepare 2 identical scenes to render with different rendering ...

Thanks for making test builds, but for the period we're in official release mode, I prefer to only give official builds (and the old T3 and verse build) more attention with sticky tags.
In a couple of weeks this can be back to normal here. :)

I like to make a note that the removed "Fullscreen" windows option will cause OpenGL in Blender to not work properly. It was removed because the code was just too bad and quick hack. I know the functionality is great and appreciated, but we have to wait for someone presenting us a more solid solitio...

I'm all ears & eyes for opportunities that arise to organize more projects like Orange. The first thing I need though is a (couple of) partner(s) to help organizing and financing it. Same was for Orange, that wouldn't have been possible without the Dutch Media Art Institute. Making animations/movies...

I full agree with Joeri's remarks. Although the used typeface, and especally the typesetting on the current blender splash screen really can use improvements. If you carefully examine the proportions of the blender logo, you can see that it is sort-of leaning backwards with perspective. That is the ...

Testing builds vs "official"

Hi, Just wanted to say a big *thanks* to all people active here with providing the test builds all the time. It has been proven to be incredible useful, and I really hope this will continue. :) The reason we today launched an official build is not to make this forum obsolete. We just need a referenc...

Official 2.40 alpha1 testing build

Just in time before the conference, not the official release, but to try all the new stuff, and a good reference to test and file bug reports! Constraint evaluation issue

I have removed an ancient (Blender 2.1) feature for Constraints... a highly undocumented and unpredictable one! This is what it did; if two or more Constraints are of the same type, it accumulates the Target positions/rotations for the constraints, averages them sortof, and then only applies the las...

Something similar we can use for action/nla/sound/timeline too. Probably only doing the horizontal lock (time) is most useful, the vertical locking can become difficult when different systems are visualized... or maybe we need two anchoring buttons. And.. 3d windows could use anchoring as well! :) F...

Last post here january, and only now a coder wakes up. Better late than never eh! :) I've studied all propals here, very interesting & useful. I think I can implement it in a way that gives both Joeri and Monkeyboi what they like to see (I also like both approaches). What I'm going to try will give ...
