OK, the sysadm found a possible reason, had to do with a test some providers do if the sender actually accepts mails. Or in his words "if there's an mx, and if the mailserver can be contacted". He "kicked something in Postfix" and it could go better now. Sorry for the abracadabra... :) Just retry or...

Blender and Special FX in feature film

(news submitted by Marc Ume) "Friday or another day" : the first Belgian 35mm feature film with all special effects made with Blender on Linux workstations, a prize-winning film at Locarno Film Festival. We are very proud to announce that the Belgian 35 mm feature movie "Friday or another day / Vend...

A couple of weeks ago I added the convention in the Ipo curve system that the bezier "auto handles" now by default stick to a horizontal position on 'extrema' or on equal Y positions. That eliminates the 'overshooting' that happened when you duplicate keys.

I think this is exactly what you proposed?

You can read past news messages about the background why we moved to a new system. The vulnerablity of the old postnuke (on blender.org) caused several hackers to try to damage our site. All our resources & energy then went to as quick as possible moving to a safer system. Spent a lot of hours on th...

The official email address to contact about order status etc is shop@blender3d.org. We've had more complaints about mail not arriving, I heard that the IP group blender.org uses seems to be blacklisted as 'spammer' by some weird internet service. There are providers who use such services... I am no ...

It's only trademarked for categories like music, magazines, etc.
In 2000 the NaN company trademarked Blender as 3D tool, in categories related to that. This trademark is valid until 2008 or so... need to move it once to the Foundation.

For reasons of mouse strain and accuracy I am not convinced this 'tweak' is better than what we offer. A RMB click followed with LMB assign is very friendly to use, not to mention that you might want to constrain rotations or translations inbetween. Further doing pre-hilighting on mouse-over is neur...

Hey Anubis, I am not sure what you mean with "I disagree with the full code rewriting ideas around this"... I've checked your pdf, and what I see is; - external controls for armature IK (already there since beginning) - support for joint DOF constraints (almost done) - curved bones (almost done) The...

I just started looking at the hybrid method yes. Bones can get (automatic) envelope/volumes assigned, with inner/outer volumes. Options could be like; - display volumes (in 3d window) - edit volumes (in 3d window) - per Bone, have option to use envelopes, or vertex-group, or both! - apply (for selec...

It's not the one or the other here. The current coloring I added to quickly see in a Pose what exactly has been edited here. It is useful to see where the IK constraint is, the other constraints, or which bones have actions... useful for debugging especially. :) (BTW, the IK constraint was in old ve...

The movie itself will be rendered in HD format (1920x1080) and can then be converted to PAL and NTSC.
We should put the HD version on the disks as well... but have to study a lot of issues still with correct encoding or formatting.

Interesting... the paper is full with heavy IK math though, will poke Brecht with it, he's doing a lot of great stuff in our IK module at the moment. Currently the (character) animation recode has a long todo still. :) Most important is bringing things back in control, so we can have a future proof ...
