Have you tried your techniques using one of the latest builds (found in the Testing Builds forum)? The renderer has been completely reworked, and I'm curious if the problem you've identified still remains.
Also, what method did you use to determine that it was the Bias parameter causing the problem?

Bf-Blender for Mac OS X 10.4 - Python 2.4 - 2/14/06
Bf-Blender for Mac OS X 10.4, Python 2.4. Try it out -- this is my first time posting one of my OS X compile and to be honest, I don't even know if it will work on anyone else's computers. Latest updates to nodes, compositor, LSCM... if it's in official BF-Blender CVS as of 3:00 p.m. EST on St. Vale...

It is with great happiness that I can say that a great many of the things I was looking for in my proposal are now a part of Blender. There is still some work to be done, but that whole section of the code is now more accessible to other developers, and we can expect further improvements as time goe...

Hey Toni - constraints system code is actually very easy. There's a step-by-step tutorial somewhere ( http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Adding_A_Constraint.311.0.html ) in the .org CMS for writing a new constraint. It's mostly just C&P from other constraints and putting things in the right place. Using t...

New patch allows frame skipping for armature ghosting
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3407&group_id=9&atid=127 The current implementation of armature ghost drawing only draws in increments of a single frame. For armatures with slower motions, you may have to up the ghosting level to 20 or more to really get a good visuali...

This kind of major consolidation usually means that their market segment s contracting. Really, who are their competitors now? Lightwave? Pixar's proprietary stuff? If the market is indeed contracting, one has to wonder why. It's certainly not a demand for quality 3D animation software overall. If a...
