Understanding Bone locations

I've looked, both via the search function and manually, for anyone attempting to move individual bones around using the new Armature hooks in the API. I cannot find anyone who has successfully done so. I'm not looking to move bones that are within IK chains, or even parented to any other bones. I'd ...

Can't you just make your selection, do an extrude, hit escape, then hit alt-s to move your extrusion along the normal?

I just wrote a script that places alread-created objects onto a ground mesh. Find it here:

There is this:

But as of yet there is no easy "Drop To Floor" command or script.

Wouldn't be too hard, would it developers?

I had wanted to see you be able to have Blenders standard lights be used as emitors for the radiosity calculations. One setup - one result. It would be nice.

There was a discussion about this on elYsiun over a year ago. You can read it here: http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5547&highlight=massive For your convenience, I'll reproduce my comments here, which pretty much stand as is. I've added some things to the algorithm since then to make it ...

I don't know if you're looking for high, middle or low end, but here's a great analysis at Anandtech showing a direct shootout between the consumer-end processors. AMD destroys Intel:

Or, for those of us who do animation and don't want or need to give our frames a full-on Yaffing, integration of the DOF plugin, or direct export of the z-buffer with images, like you can do with the alpha channel. This would be soooooooooo useful for a variety of post-processing effects.

What's up with this? http://harkyman.home.comcast.net/whatsup.jpg Subsurf level 0 in 3d view, level 2 in render view. Oren-Nayer/Blinn shader, three spot lights with shadows. Tried the different shaders, no difference. Altered the subsurf levels, and the patterns only changed size. What's going on, ...

I've always used the latest official release. I'll start using 2.3 today. Sometimes, I jump ahead and use snapshot builds to take advantage of new features. I don't use scripts a whole lot, though. When I do, I fire up an older version, use the script, then jump back to the latest.

If Ton is willing to accept such a measure of gratitude, he could set up a Wish List on Amazon.com (or somesuch). Anyone who was feeling magnanimous could pop on over and buy him what he needs/wants.

For the record, you can already rename rvk's. In the action window, the rvk sliders appear. Place the cursor over the key name in this window, press n-key, and it allows you to rename the key. Agreed the system is sloppy and illogical. It would make more sense to generate the keys directly in the Ac...
