what i realy would like to see is the addition for surface types.

clay, skin, etc have modified light models for those specific material simulations. they work pretty good in my opinion.

well povray is a free tool so many people use it. 3delight which also is not that old as povray also has a complet different market. they rather use it for feature film like at the studio i worked some years ago. i guess thats why you dont see so much. only because the gallery is weak doesnt mean th...

actualy there are some people working on. for rib and pofray you can get export python scripts. sofar they use python because the changes of api would have made hard coded exporters a problem. go to elysium and look for the exporter scripts. the search engine will give you many hints. another proble...

mh that looks great, thsi reminds me about tools i use in mental ray, normal value, curve/ramp, this progress here looks very promessing. i noticed that each time i create a shader and add elements blender takes more time to render the first image. is that because of shader compilations? or is it ju...

in shadermaker i created those procedual shaders, most was a combination of blender nodes alpha channel croping and with a height node the texture difference along the y axis was controlled. i dont see why this should not be possible when they include some more nodes which deal more with space orien...

well aqsis is there, plus there is povray, and the last and best 3delight. 3delight is only free for use for non-commercial usage aqsis does not support as many features as 3delight. povray is well quite a killer render engine in terms of features but unfortunately also in terms of usability. yafray...

as far as i know blender does not support true 3d motion blur at all
and thus would not support the needed data for any post productions.

blenders interal motionblur is a 2d motion blur, which works for some degree but not for post productions.

i would agree with a off/on check box for the gestures, i just like to use them a lot. nothing is hardly faster than two mouse clicks but we might talk about micro seconds here anyway. i did not know that the GUI discussion is dead. i think still blender suffers from some paradox hotkeys like x for ...
