Yup it's possible. You can do this with Python scripting. Python has full support for sockets. You need the full install of Python along with Blender. I've tested this in Blender once by making two Blenders connect to each other, works like a charm.

Hm, I don't know how much you scaled it down, but if you scale it down a LOT, you get unpcrecise results. The positions of the vertices are stored as floats. You'd be surprised at how unprecise compters really are. Floats are stored as binary fractions, which aren't that precise. So to keep things p...

It would be nice to see how a native Intel compiled version of Blender would compare to the emulated PowerPC version. Also curious if it will compile without problems. I can't wait to do some tests on the new intel macs.

How does the new iMac feel, is it much faster?

Well YafRay being dirty for interior rendering is partly because you don't take enough samples... It's slow, I know, but that's the price. An integration of YafRay would of course be perfect! Just the lighting part of YafRay could be included, as a render layer. That would be the end, an overlay rad...

Hi Yaroslav_L, Sometimes internet communication is really irritating. People get easily offended because of language/humor differences. In your letter you say that the coders probably know that users want all this, and that's true. But there are only so much coders and at the moment the coders are m...

Dual dual cores are popping around the corner of the consumer market at the moment. I guess in a year or so, they'll be affordable for mere mortals, so you're right, it would be nice to have in the near future. My guess is that it's not that difficult now that we already have dual threads?

Make sure the object you selected is the only selected object. Press 'a' to deselect all, then select your object and press 'Tab' to go into edit mode.

Does this work?

I agree this would be very cool. And reasonably easy. A long time ago I almost finished putting this feature in Blender... I didn't get the behavior just right however and other projects got the overhand. Now I wouldn't know where to start even:) So yes, I back you, this would be a cool feature!

Change the Clip End value to something lower, like 2.0. Then you're able to change the Clip Start to 0.01.

I think this has something to do with z-buffer depth. They are only like 8 bits or so, viewing everything would make the drawing very jaggy.

Did you set the image type to JPEG? Or did you just type a filename ending with .jpg? To set the image type, press F10 and change it in the "Format" tab in the lower right. Also make sure that RGB is pressed, not RGBA. Only a bunch of programs understand 4 channel jpegs and the ones that do, think i...
