Aha! I think we're getting to the point now. Hm... now you bring it up, the size in the 'n' panel might be named a bit wierd. The size really means scale. It has nothing to do with the dimensions, but with scaling. You need to understand that Blender works with two coordinate systems, the global and...

Hi Setu_Firestorm, The shift+f1 is also findable in the file menu, file->append. The difference between materials and textures... Materials define how an object looks according to it's surroundings and light. This includes the color, shading(how light is reflected), reflection, transparency etc. The...

Ehm... gk, Dude, what's the problem in just imagining the unit system yourself. Just think to yourself that 1.0 is 1.0 meters. Or if you want to work in mm, just think of it like that. Is it that hard to imagine? I always use meters, because that works best for me on the scale of architectural model...

Textured preview only works with manual UV maps, not with other mapping. Same goes for exporting. I'm not sure if the .x exporter supports textures btw. How did you do the uv mapping? You should do it in the image window. Go in to face mode, unwrap with the 'u' key and select an image in the image w...

Have you tried scrolling the buttons window? Try dragging the pannels with your middle mouse button. You may want to go for the vertical panel layout, with the panels to the side of the display.

I'd go for the Guide. If you just started learning, you don't want to wait more than six months for the DVD to be finished. I think studying .blend files can be of great value. It's always interesting to see how other people work. To pay, you could use international wire transfer. All banks are able...

Hi kxs,

The way I measure stuff is just move one vertice down to the other and look in the 3d window header how much I've moved. And you don't need to measure much when building a house from a floor plan. Place them correctly the first time, by numeric input.

I've been doing some testing. And it seems much better than the original, no wierd parenting web structure and good transformations. Although I still get some rotation errors on instances. And it is quite slow. I took a rather large scene to test, and it took over 20 minutes to export. Also I hope t...

Now this is interesting work! Especially the support for instances. Very good! I think I'll give this a try at work next week, got 3d Studio there. Let's see how well it performs. Your work is very much appreciated. This far I've had two freelance jobs passed by just because they explicitly ONLY wan...

Hi Stevoelsupremo, It seems you've got a lot of tutorials to follow, try this link: http://www.blender.org/cms/Tutorials.243.0.html About the pink thing, it's in the material buttons, in the 'Map To' panel. You'd probably want to post user questions on elysiun.com. You'll get faster and better answe...

Hi Raceimaztion, This really belongs in the user forums over at elysiun.com, but I can understand the confusion. My guess is that you pressed the numpad forward slash ('/') button. This brings you into local view of the selected objects. Very handy if you're working with large scenes. Press the same...
