Build Problems

Hello, all: Okay, please forgive me if I don't try to fix everybody's build problems. :-) Here are a few tips, though: 1) Wherever you uncompressed the .jar files from NSPR for your platform should be where the makefile info points for your system. If all else fails, (i.e. create environment variabl...

Thanks!

Hello, all! Thanks to those who responded! Here's what I need to get started: - Using the CVS instructions on the network renderer pages here on blender.org, checkout the current CVS and build it for your system. - Hang on to the .jar files from the NSPR install you do so that we can assemble functi...

RenderD Project Testers Needed

Hello! I've recently picked up the code for RenderD, Blender's network rendering system, and begun the task of making it fully cross-platform, configurable, and giving it a GUI. The first step for me is to make sure that what I'm doing doesn't break the code for other platforms: I work on OS X, and ...

Count me In!

Count me in!

As a heavy Blender user and an amateur coder I'm quite happy to contribute, especially on my chosen platform (OS X).

What's the next step?

Icarus

Hello again:

The Icarus program once Freeware now $3,000-ware, matched camera postions & tracking very well.

There is a python script that imports this data. Unfortunately, I can't use the Python Script (I'm on OS X...) and Icarus is no longer free.

A job for Python perhaps?

Hello, Odyssey! Would this work? Designate one plane as your "horizontal" reference, and another as your "vertical" reference, sharing an edge as you suggest. Then rotate the two so that you end up with what appears to be a "match" with your background image. Launch a Python script that will place t...

Some Help

Hello: Using a bash script given to me by one of the more experienced Blender coders, I have had no problem successfully compiling using the command line. The script is simple: #!/bin/bash rm -f /tmp/.nanguess export MAKE=make export NANBLENDERHOME="/Users/developer/Projects/blender" export OS="darw...

It's Good!

Okay, it works. :) About the only change I noticed was that there's less flickering when using face select mode: it doesn't seem to go spastic into bizzare colors except for brief moments now, whereas it used to stay that way when your mouse pointer left the window. Alas, no other fixes. Python stil...

OS X 10.2.5?

Hello!

Anybody tried OS X 10.2.5 with blender yet?

Only reason I think it'll have any impact is that one of the things Apple has "fixed" in this release is their OpenGL implementation...

Hope it fixes some bugs! Has anyone tried it yet or in 3 hours will I be the first? :-)

Python, VRML2, and RenderMan

Hello: Some quick notes. RenderMan support is only partially complete just yet for all platofrms, let alone OS X. It is still in development: that's why you get blank renders. Python & VRML2 are intertwined issues. There are problems with how MacOS X handles library linking that prevent enabling two...

Material Indices integrated with Face Selection?

Heya: One of the great uses of the Material Indices, as well as the vertex groups, is to give you some "subgroups" that you can select and manage from session to session. While it is possible to use "tab" to go between edit mode and face select mode, giving you access to the materials index function...

Integrate Face Selection with Materials Indices!

Heya:

For all of us using UV mapping as a way to get better control of standard textures (as opposed to simply game mapping), allowing us to use the material indices functions in face select mode as well as edit mode would give a LOT of flexibility!
