Re: Any thoughts on Dev C++ ?

This is one that I am suprised nobody mentioned. And also... by "distributable", I did not mean for commercial purposes. I am not looking to sell anything yet,(not for a long while) but I want to know that if I create a binary, it will run on other Win32 machines. To be exact, it is even illegal to...

Re: atsyle formatting options file

As I see it, the effort you propose here should heavily interact with the documentation team. Oops - that was quite a fault! Nobody can really speak of a "team" here, since collaboration and discussion is open to everyone, so everyone can be part of it. It's just that some people show a bit ...

Good idea. I'd especially love to see Ruby support in Blender! :)

For people that don't know swig yet: http://www.swig.org/ . It makes your application support dozens of cool programming languages! 8)

Re: atsyle formatting options file

Of course this idea was borrowed from a different thread http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=41 . And credit should go to them as well: cessen brought the topic up, xitnalta named asytle, & EWLloyd provided the link to astyle http://sourceforge.net/projects/as...

I'd like to give you a rough overview of the formats: XML XML is a formatting concept that works at the same level as a text file - it needs an application to be interpreted and you're absolutely free to put into it what you want. XML is roughly like HTML, only that you have to define all the tags y...

Good idea! The only thing I have a problem with - I'm not very familiar with CVS (i.e. I hardly used it for anything beyond a checkout, and know some of the theory behind it). I will have to catch up somewhat on that issue.

with cygwin i ran into a problem i was not able to solve (yet?). cygwin does not have a libdl library. libdl is (AFAIK) a static library that you can use to plugin-enable your applications by enabling to load dynamic libraries at runtime. I don't know whether it is so Unix-specific that it only app...

The publisher doc. is GNU FDL-licensed, but that license is not included as promised in the notice (it is in the separate text file fdl.txt). Or did you accidentally forget to apply the Blender Foundation Content License there?

Hey! I have a nice idea on how the commenting stuff could be easily solved by non-programmers. Florian: if you have a untouched version of the source code (or just expand it again somewhere from the tarball), you can then just go through the files and add a "* " or "TRANS: " before every Dutch comme...

Re: German Documentation

are there any german translation project´s yet? People already proposed to translate stuff to Spanish and Italian, but that's about it (until now), so translators are needed everywhere. The official docs that are available (look at the Documentation link in the left-hand menu - there's more to foll...

Unreality: Two possible reasons come to my mind: 1. Do you really have Debian "woody" (3.0, aka "stable")? The testing dist is called "sarge" (I think), so you have to look which one of "woody" or "sid" works better, and the unstable dist is "sid". If you still have potato (Debian 2.2), you probably...

Re: Suggestion: sample files, free documentation in download

What would really add to the site's value would be some more downloads. ... So if there aren't any licensing issues that stop this from happening, I (and for some many others) would be glad to see this added. Anyway, keep up the good work! It's being worked on right now, and yes, there's some licen...

No access to private messages?

Hi (Timothy)! I've got my first PM today, but had to go back to my email proggie to read it again. I now have <a href=" http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpBB2&file=privmsg ">Private messages</a> in my menu, but there surely needs to be a proper solution for this. Or ... just show ...
