if CS uses ODE and the blend dev tree already has it integrated better than SOLID - maybe it would be a better idea to use ODE for the physics in blender so that integration with CS could be easier - i wonder if ODE is preferable for the blender coders too?

unfortunately they seem to write freeware for all open source apps

even though this irks me, it may be better to draw people to download and use the software rather than using the term open source or GPL as not everyone may be familar with it.

2.25 on ppc linux?

hi

i was wondering if anyone knew if blender 2.25 would compile on ppc linux with the game engine (no binaries). if so can i get the source code or is all game engine stuff impossible until it's open sourced (when is that anyway?)

cheers

those links look pretty old

hopefully what we end up with will be at least as recent as the 2.25 library.

anyone checked out NeL?

http://nevrax.org

based on screenshots alone it looks to be the most impressive open engine after crystal space around at the moment.

I definately think that blenders engine should stay, but more support for exporting would be great.

Hi all i'm currently writing a paper for uni on the use of open source software in art and am of course going to use blender as a case study. thanks for the tip :)

i think that all i need from sys might be argv. any idea on how to get that code out of the sys module? i have a copy of sys.py from blender that i could link the script to after adding argv to it.

sys.py?

hi i have a script that runs in the commandline that needs the normal python sys module. i can specify the path of the module in blender to get it to run but i need a copy of the normal sys.py as the blender built in modified version has pieces (argv, sys?) removed. sys.py is not in the python lib, ...
