I think on blender.org's documentation page there should be a link to this page in the meantime..... http://projects.blender.org/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/blender/source/blender/python/api2_2x/doc/?cvsroot=bf-blender And you can say there that people can click on the numbers to see the documentation for t...

http://www.linuxgraphic.org/section3d/blender/pages/didacticiels/displacement/index-ang.html Here's a tutorial about a displacement mapping script for Blender versions 1.8 through 2.04. It involves new polygons being created though, so it would create a high polygon count. http://www.dm7.net/index.p...

Proper DOF in Blender would be cool! I like Pablosbrain's idea... Although having an empty to represent the focus is a lot simpler to implement, I think a circle should be used to represent the focus. It is far easier to see the area that a sphere (shown as a circle) encompasses compared with an emp...

In that case, I will make a complete downloadable version available for sale, and allow the DocBoard to use the text and images (not the design) for integration in the open manual project.... What do you mean by "not the design"? Can the open manual project use smaller margins, 3 columns per page a...

It would be good if motion blur could be set to any number from 2 to 20 or more. Sometimes 16 isn't enough. And it would be good if oversampling (OSA) could be adjusted independently... e.g. I might want a little edge smoothing but a lot of motion blur... normally when I have a lot of mblur samples,...

Re: Not permanent, but...

Mel_Q: Thanks, that fixed it! I only had problems with the camera (screen 1 in your link) - in the window clipping settings (screen 2 in your link) Blender already had it set like that. ...it's my understanding that this forum is more about the development of blender's rendering code.... Well I thou...

The surrounding points....? What about "11"? What are the 11 points? A 3x3 grid plus two on the sides? Why did they use "8" rather than "9"? BTW, during jittering, does it actually rerender the image a couple times or does it just combine a few copies of the image? For me, the time taken to do the O...

GeForce previewing problem accidently created & resolved

(The problem I accidently created has now been resolved by Mel_Q in this thread...) I just got a GeForce4MX440 to speed up the display of the preview animations. My old card (onboard SiS one) played back the animations quite slowly. Well in my projects, in the shaded and solid views, the graphics l...

To have another texture showing, put it on another texture channel, below the env map channel, and move the col slider for the env map down a bit (to reduce the env map's opacity and therefore make the other texture show more).

Fields: Even=Lower, Odd=Upper, mblur bug?

I've been testing field rendering to make sure my animation is as smooth as possible on TV. When I import an even field-rendered AVI as Lower field first, it looks really smooth on the TV, and flickers if it is imported as Upper field first. So it seems even=lower. And odd field rendering is upper f...

Sometimes importing 3ds max VRML to blender doesn't work properly - or maybe its the other way around - anyway, I do it using DXF - and if you've got multiple materials you need to detach the materials into separate objects (I think) and when you're exporting the dxf in 3ds max you need to make it s...

The thread's title wasn't meant to be a question - it was a statement... it's for educational purposes.
It also includes a suggestion in there for the interface. (That the name on the button be changed)

...I can't even make darkblue with it!!!! (but that is not Blenders fault! ).... You just start with black (total darkness - R,G,B=0) and give it a bit of blue. As ray_theray said though, HSV silders are probably easier to understand... e.g. if you want it darker or lighter, use the V (value...

Making the spacebar show all of the currently valid hotkeys

I wrote the following in a thread I started in the "Interface" forum. Since it hasn't gotten any replies and since it might attract more interest here, I'm putting it here too. Maybe some of you like the idea and are willing to implement it... I might write out some pseudo-code that could be convert...
