ultimately why use a a Z-buffer as a source for bump maps, why not combine actuall 3D geometry with image data combined with a 2D shader to influence the dynamic tesselation of a surface? It allows you to reuse what vector based drawing already exists in the 3D space as well as use procedural textu...

Flash SWF Export Anyone?

Is anybody working on adding this fuction to future versions Blender? Ton had discussed this intgretion in the past. But what about adding it now for the new Blender Sets?

I know that this option would add a whole new level of productivity to the Blenders built-in compositor.

Transparency Map Rendered Shadows?

Anyone working on adding this option into a future Blender version. Other Blender users have requested this feature in the past. So I hope that this one basic 3d feature will make it into Blender one day. This would make mapping tree leaves, bug wings and wire fencing look more realistic.

Subsurface Scattering possible?

Is a "Subsurface Scattering" shader possible in Blender at this stage or does Blender need a more advanced shading system?-
