Blender Basics 2nd Edition now available!

Due to lots of interest in the first edition (plus I needed it for myself) I've finished re-writing the Blender Basics Classroom Book to reflect the changes in version 2.41. Lots of new chapters, screen shots and corrections along with a new format. I'm going to be presenting at the national Tech Ed...

Nice to hear about Blender in the schools. I'm in the final stages of updating my classroom Blender Basics Classroom book for 2.41 and should have it up on my site this week. I use it at the high school level in our drafting and design classes. Maybe it can be of help for the basics.

Ah Rhal... I've asked the same question several times over the years to see if this can find a programmer to work on. As soon as I ask the question, it becomes very silent. I keep hoping for some big sequencer improvements so we can use it in school. Maybe someday. I keep checking the wiki, but it s...

Hi Prahaai There are a lot of good tuts out there, but without a good learning sequence, it's like a lot of hit and miss. Here's something I wrote for my classroom (and in the process of re-writing now) http://www.cdschools.org/54223045235521/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=55205 maybe it...

I've noticed a slow down that may be related to this. I've tried bringing up a space ship scene made up of ships made by my students. About 36 spaceship, many with particles effects. When I open it in 2.37 and press Alt-A to see an animation in a window, runs ok- a little slower than realtime, but o...

Yep... it's the first problem I have when teaching students Blender. We start with creating objects, then move into editing them. So basically i have to constantly remind them that they need to press Tab after every new object they create. I have to agree with Broken. I need to be out of edit mode a...

MetalHannes,

try this:

Blender Basics Classroom Book Chapter Downloads

I haven't updated the manual from last spring, but I have now listed individual chapters for download on our district's site. This way, you can now download the entire 90-page manual in one shot, download in three parts, or download the smaller chapter files. Here's the link: http://www.cdschools.or...

Welcome mazerraxuz

I know Blender can be frustrating at first and takes a good 2 weeks until it starts to make sense. I've written a classroom book (to use in my own classroom) that takes you from the basics. Maybe it can help you. See my link below to it. Good Luck!

Do you mean taking screen shots to do something like produce a tutorial or an actual rendering of an image? To do a simple screen shot of what's on your monitor, just press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Next step, open an image program, like Windows simple paint program, the go to "edi...
