Can you ask the same question in a different way?
I have no idea what you want to do or achieve.

I think its a good idea. Maya also has wildcards, so cube_* will select all cubes that start with cube_ It also allows to open windows that you "select". So: "alpha" will open the material panel,... very handy for obscure settings slider / buttons. A easy / fast implementation would be a search in t...

Maybe at www.blenderartist.org you can find somebody who likes doing your work for you.

Do mention how you unwrapped the icosphere so the map might fit.

Cool idea.
Painting hard and soft edges would be a lot faster than selecting edges.

How else are you going to do it? Video with a camera and editing a movie will be faster to learn. 3dStudio Max or Maya will be equal difficult to learn. Once you grab the concept of blender it might be even faster to learn. Keep you left hand on the keyboard and your right hand on the mouse. And lea...

Some vertex model tools are badly implemented. But I find the vertex editor of blender by far better than the Maya one. Not even talking about the subsurf editor of Maya or Max... Binding and Animating the verteces in blender is in my view also far more easy than in Maya. True that you need to learn...

It takes a year to learn blender to a level where you'll feel like you can handle any problem given to you. It takes a week to get a bouncing ball from scratch to avi. Making animations is another skill than making games. Sure you'd like running, gun holding, evil looking monsters in a first person ...

Re: Orthographic Worklow needed in Blender

One of the main reasons why Blender has not caught in the industry is due to the fact that it does not follow certain industry standards. The Orthographic workflow (Top, Front, Side, Perspective) has been used by many 3d applications. Lightwave 3D, 3DSmax, Maya, etc have used this workflow for year...

Hi. At the bottom of every page there is a cute sitemap. http://www.blender.org/education-help/tutorials/ Blender likes "instances", back from the memory saving days. So maybe when you duplicated your object you did not duplicate the mesh but instanced the mesh? Even if you did you can still apply a...

I was thinking the same thing recently. Having a separate download only makes sense if versions are cross compatible. But they are not. The only thing I can see against it is maybe I dont want to install a programming language hardrouted as C:\PYTHON etc. So best would be to have a copy in the blend...

Alas these things are only illegal if you fight them in court.
