It should not be difficult to write a python script to do that, the only real issue is conformance to the standard that Aftereffects is expecting. If it is just a text file, it should not be difficult. If you can find a spec on what aftereffects is wanting as input, I'm sure one of the python gurus ...

Goofster has done some work on this idea and committed it to Tuhop (after the feature freeze for 3.32) so you might want to check that out. I'm currently dabbling in Yafray export stuff (go figure) and have a cool idea for armature chains from dupliverts.

I think I might want to look at this in the near future. I have not looked at path or armature code yet, so I am probably getting in over my head again! But, last time I did that I got a feature in a release :lol:

I think the major thrust of 'all this' is to think about if extrude should work as a single command or remain the combination of 2 commands. Yes it is very obvious and easy to just remove the popup, but in JUST doing that, you cannot cancel the 1st of the 2 commands, just the 2nd. So if you just get...

Yes, but there is a problem with that, in the workflow you only get 1 transform before the action is complete. This is all surface level modification. When you press E, the extruded verts are created at their original location. Then immediately goes into grab mode for those new verts. So if you actually want to leave them there, you would do best to hold CTRL to keep the verts locked closer. I'm not sure I q...
