i think what he means is precodural textures and image maps could be baked into UV coordinates and corresponding textures. in the GHOST source there is an example file. it has the blender monkey exported into GL calls, apparently from a script. I can't remember the exact location. look in the GHOST cvs for a folder called examples, or tests, or something, and find a file called monkey.c (or maybe .cpp). they mention it ...
