Use python or get sombody else to use python :), thats what its there for... or just dont use Blender. Failing that, why not add your exported in C allongside blenders existing C coded exporters, though for somthing non standard like crystal space its unlikely to get in the BF-Tree. Bah, I asked a ...

Please people. Don't try to convince me to use python. I don't like the language (I absolutely hate the fact that indentation matters) and blend2cs is already a big program and I have absolutely no intentions of porting that. But thanks for the other pointers. I will have a look there. Still would h...

Use python, youll find it much easier, if there is some variable you need thats not accsessable, then write a hook- its often not that hard, especialy if your just getting data, - Cam Sorry but that's not an option for several reasons. First it is an existing program and I'm not going to port to py...

Question about internal blender format

Hi all. I'm working on blend2cs which is a C++ program to convert .blend files to Crystal Space format. To properly support hierarchical objects (i.e. parented objects in blender) I need to find the relative position and rotation of a child (relative to the parent). I'm using the DNA source to parse...

what about for other datblocks that associate with files? like images audio ... I think that it works correctly for images. At least I have gotten .blend files with images associated with it (but not packed in the .blend file) that I could load nicely even in my own directory structure. Greetings,

Feature request: relative filenames for linked .blend files

Hi all, As far as I understand it it seems that when you link two .blend files, then the path to the linked .blend file is stored hardcoded and fully qualified (i.e. like this: c:\bla\library.blend). This is VERY annoying for me. I'm trying to setup a distributed blender project where there is one m...

Argh! Just to stop this from getting out of hand, this sticky topic is not meant as a place to post feature requests. We already have this facility in the feature requests tracker which is what this topic is supposed to direct people to. Please use it ;) Cheers I would like too but I get a permissi...

I'm just keeping my eyes open for an opensource game engine that we could output blender stuff into, and separate blender and the delivered game product. Crystal Space ( http://crystal.sf.net ) supports Blender through the Blend2CS project ( http://projects.blender.org/projects/blend2cs/ ). This wo...

Bug in these forums?

It looks as if there is a bug in these forums. The Game Engine Status thread only shows four pages (at least on my browser) but there are a lot more pages. I can see the other messages if I manually change the start=... value in the url to set another start message. Just wanted to report this. Here ...

I'm surprised and delighted that CS is one of the Game engines being considered for Blender. Is Jorrit actively involved in the integration, or just being available when developers are stuck? With all the possiblities of blender and CS put together, we've got a REAL KICK ASS SYSTEM!!! As far as I k...

Thanks for the replys Hush and Saluk. Whatever the future of Game Blender I really hope they keep it under the blender umbrella. In other words to keep it all as one program. The CS rendering is intriguiging(sp?) but it would be a shame to have to model and program everything in Blender then export...

Of course the alternative is to convert .blend files to CS files by means of a script from within blender (something which has already been looked at by the blender2cs script). This might be a feasable approach, depends really what information CS files hold (physics?, sound?, scripts?). David CS ta...

Hi all, Small introduction: I'm the project manager of Crystal Space. I was made aware of this thread by someone so I decided to step in and give some information. I think it would be a great idea to try to integrate Crystal Space more tightly with Blender (what did you expect? :-) Crystal Space is ...

I believe it's also considered a bit old and unwieldy in terms of 3D engines, and something like OGRE or Nebula Project might be better. I'm the project manager of Crystal Space so of course I'm VERY VERY biased. Take my opinions with a mountain of salt :-) However, I can tell you that Crystal Spac...
