When burp is opened to the public (hopefully very soon) it will be possible to do stills- by splitting them into parts and the individual parts are sent to each node

No additional coding is necessary. I'm sorry, I probably didn't make this clear in my post. Flare has already made all the necessary changes, and the patch can be found in this thread on the burp forum It would be nice to have this done with MSVC (the official compiler) but that is not necessary- cy...

Worldwide distributed rendering system for BLENDER!

http://burp.boinc.dk For those of you who don't know, Janus (aka Flare on Elysiun) has built a distributed blender rendering system that uses the same client as seti@home. Basically this means that once you sign up you can submit renders that are completed in a fraction of the time you would spend,...

I agree. I can understand the buttons being rounded to show groups of buttons- I think this is an improvement- but the blender interface (IMHO) is becoming too complicated in areas that serve no real purpose. Please, change this feature back.

Or, at least, add an option.

Andy, if I remember correctly the GeForce 6800 is the best retail card available. I'm guessing it hasn't been tested too thouroughly by Blender coders yet.

What if you want to copy the settings to another object later? You make a good point. Well, in my opinion it would still be better to have an 'apply to all' option, but I'm sure it will be added sometime, at the rate blender is moving, and untill then I'm content to live with the CTRL + C menu (ass...

Ok, a quick mockup...

Making it a bit more complicated, there would have to be some kind of failsafe to stop it applying stupid things like materials to cameras:

Sorry, after re-reading my post I see it's slightly confusing...

I meant that your technique doesn't work with all the features, as you yourself point out. Thats why I think we need a tool to apply changes to selected objects.

Thanks

j/k...

Thanks, I didn't know that trick. But still, it doesn't work with most features, and this tool seems, to me, like such a basic thing.

does anyone share my view?

Well, I only understand a fraction of what you do, but it sounds like you're on the right track ;) If you havent seen it, someone is working on a colision detection system for python over at elysiun: http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28155 I'm not sure but I think this might be useful to ...

A small (no, really ;) ) feature request

Ok, I have a project with about 300 objects. I want to use the particle deflection feature (yes I know its going to take a while), but to do so I'm going to to have to set every object to deflection. I could do it with a python script, but I think its long since time that blender needs a feature to ...

Are both objects connected to the same armature? The Armature uses a system different to IPO's, its called Actions. This is what needs to be seperate.

BTW it is better to ask these types of question on elysiun.com, the coders here get a bit annoyed when too many people ask user questions ;)

You could do everything except proper AI without scripting.

As ascotan said, try elysiun.

But the knife tool is different right, because it takes the verticies from where the face of the 'knife' intersects the target, instead of working out where the verticies 'should' go.

Am I right?

I'm not a coder, but it seems to me that #2 is a very 2d based idea. For example, it will depend which viewpoint you're in as to where the verticies are placed, just as it will depend on perspective mode and 3d positioning. To me, it sounds like somthing that would create lots of errors for newbies....
