Share your blend file(if you are willing to) via www.blendswap.com .Some one can understand the settings and tell you where the problem exactly is. You have lights You have camera active as you said. Did you by chance activate sequences???This might mess up your render. Compositing settings by any c...

You rely on shortcuts - I'm in the midst of a little project that will bind a whole bunch of keyboard shortcuts to actual UI buttons in a way that matches 3D Studio's Edit Poly modifier as closely as possible. Kinda getting sick of people insisting that newcomers adhere to the intended workflow whe...

Ya I get your point. But the thing is that in blender you rely more on shortcuts than gizmos. While moving you object if you press X.The transformation will happen only in X axis only(applys for loc, rot, scale). If you press shift+X the transformation occurs only in Y,Z axes. Most of the time I use G-T...

Well I never thought of it. So I just googled it.I found out that such feature is probably missing. But still you can achieve it in many ways. You may have to set the 3D cursor on the point where you need to transform the vertex and then select the vertex that needs to be moved. Now press shift+s(snap...

Re: Rendering Comes Back Blank

My guess would be that you have another object selected as the camera. Try sellecting the camera and pressing ctr 0 and then rerender. If that fails, It would help to see your material settings and render settings. This is exactly correct. If a camera is active, the arrow on top of the camera will b...

Make balloons cloth bodies. Invert gravity on balloons as they fly against gravity direction in the fields. Turn on cloth collision->self collision. This will handle cloth colliding with itself. Increase the bend value to 100+ so that the balloon wont collapse as if its empty. For wind effects you ne...

I suggest you to switch to newer version as soon as possible. The learning curve isn't all that steep like with 2.49 version.Lot of things have changed under the hood.Newer options are added and bad ones are repaired. Also a lot of tutorials are targeted onto 2.5x version. Also the upcoming versions o...

You can achieve it by creating an array of the hexagonal mesh with array modifier.
The wraping can be achieved by using shrinkwrap modifier on the array of hexagons with target being a sphere or halfsphere.

google for blender game engine logic blocks. You can script the action or just use the gui nodes. The system is simple. sensor<--->controller<--->actuator For your craft to fly with the key event of 'w' from key board., you need to create a sensor for keyboard event of 'w' bound to the object.Add a ...

Pretty easy.
You can actually create meshes from python script. You can also set materials. You can plot the scientific data.I donno what kind of plotting you need but one thing for sure is that you can customize blender to your requirement via python.

If you have insufficient edges on the end faces., the subsurfacing may not look all that smooth. Also with excess edges the smoothing will look flat ;)

So all you need to do is to add edge loops with ctrl+r

How to verify if a point is inside or outside a 3d body???

A general geometry problem.

I'm trying to test some physics problem.I need to know if a point is in certain 3d volume enclosed by a model.I've tried to implement ray cast algo in 3d but I'm having problems.

I wish some one could explain me a better way to do it.
