From what I understand about the procedural textures is that they are "real 3D" as such they don't function with any of the mapping options like: Cube, Tube, Flat and Sphere. I agree though that having 2D procedural textures would be nice, just a simple toggle button to switch between 3D and 2D proc...

Your best bet would probably be to contact Paul Bridger directly as he is the author of the plugin for blender. You can of course always go back to an older Blender version. Or you can take a closer look at Blenders own material node system, I don't exactly know how Blenders node system holds up aga...

I checked my console output in blender, and it says:

Code: Select all

GL_VERSION: 1.1. (1.1.0)
I that what you meant with the wrong DLL? Is there even a way to change that for blender?

I never use any of the visual desktop stuff, I turn it off when ever I install windows. I downgraded my driver, things seem to working properly now. Strange thing was that even with my downgraded driver I got the same problem until I copied the atioglxx.dll back into the Blender directory and everyt...

Latest ATI drivers crash Blender

I installed the latest ATI drivers and Catalyst Controll center, now Blender is worse then ever. The latest ATI was supposed to fix the slow OpenGL I was led to believe. When I started blender after installing the drivers everything was fine and things actually were faster, then 10 minutes in full s...

Hardware question - What Graphicscard to buy

I'm building a new system and need some help with choosing a graphics card. I'm not even considering an ATI card just so you know :P, so here are my questions. 1. Is there any benefit in having a SLI setup, 2 Nvidia graphics cards. 2. From what I understand NVidia Quadro cards are best for workstati...

Does ubuntu install proprietary (from a company) drivers? I thought they were big on being completely open source. Not on the CD/DVD, when you do an update/install you get the option to connect to the web for recent files and such. When I did the update I got prompted by the installer for downloadi...

Blender 2.45 crashes on Ubuntu Studio 8.04

I recently installed the new Ubuntu and now Blender wont run anymore, it completely locks up the system.

I think this problem is related to the proprietary drivers installed by default in Ubuntu 8.04, I never had this problem in 7.10.

The only application I know that can convert (Maya) .ma .mb or (3D studio Max) .max is Polytrans and you need to have an installed version of these aplications for the converter to work. These formats are native formats, forget about having them implemented in Blender no app other then Maya (for .mb...

Press alt+c once to convert to a curve and once again to convert to a mesh. These types of questions are better asked at http://blenderartists.org/forum/ by the way. This is the developers forum.

I've had similar problems, the viewing angle seems to play a role here as well. When you change the viewing angle it wil sometimes allow you to select the problematic vertices, but switching you wireframe is the only real solution.
