Thanks snail,
I guess that I'll have to stick around until I get the hang of python sripts. Not everything is so "friggen easy" if you don't have the basics right. I seem to remember that the doppler shift thing was also so "friggen easy" as well......Levon?

This a giant leap forward for folks like me who don't drive cars, or fly planes with buttons. Thanks a lot! Just one thing, I'm not yet any good at the python stuff (not yet!) so does anyone have a sample program that I can download to play with the joystick movements. I downloaded the one from snai...

Question on 2.34 runtime
Hi All, Thanx for sticking back the game engine in 2.34. I can save the runtime files o.k. but when I try to run the .exe files, I see that you have to include the file Python23.dll. Does this mean that if I send some else the exe file, that I need to send the python file as well? I also noticed tha...

Are there any limits in IPO's?
Hi All,
Are there limits in the length of IPO's? I have an animation that runs for 8000 frames, and I pick up all kinds of problems. It seems like there is some kind of limit. I use only bezier curves, and the longer my animation, the less I can get the curves adjusted. Any ideas? Thanx

You can use pygame to read the joystick, I'm not sure if other analogue inputs such as steering wheels are supported etc. (pygame.org) Thanx Saluk, it looks like I'll just have to learn some programming. It would be nicer to have this feature available in the Blender realtime stuff. I had a look at...

This is a most intersting thread, but I have a question. What are you guy's doing to steer the cars. Keyboard? That's boring! I would love to see Blender being able to read the joysick or other analogue inputs. The doppler effect also does not work if you want do get views where the cars ride past t...

the box select doesn't deselect anything so, you probably left selected some other handles you can select and deselect all with the A key I need to move individual points on the bezier curves. Using A key selects the whole curve from start to finish. If you zoom in to the points in the window, you ...

IPO Problems
Hi All, I am getting on well now with my simulation of the control-line model plane aerobatic pattern. I used the IPO's to animate all of the maneuvers, and I have picked up a problem. Maybe I'm pushing the IPO stuff beyond the design limits?? I need to fine-tune the movements and sometimes I can't ...

Hi Guy's, Please don't forget the doppler shift that does not work, and although it seems that not many people use joysticks these days, I still believe that reading the joystick ports should not be such a big problem to access. This would enable guys like me to make programs like simulators for pla...

I agree whole-heartedly! I have never been able to figure out any game engine type of software. I could see amazing potential in the power of Blender, but just could not get anything to work well from the tutorials on the net. I ordered the book in August, and I am now doing much better than I ever ...
