May be do you need to lean about saving vertex Hmmm, shouldn't software obey user rules. Instead of users being tiedup by software rules? -Joeri Of course there is a chance he is just using too many vertices and he needs to learn about modelling more efficiently....... Roel ps. how come 9 out of 10...

I'm not the one to "make" another CJ. I need content. so if you feel like writing something, that's the best way to kickstart a CJ :)

rwenzlaf:

I have trouble with the same thing (only you can probably fix it). I wanted to add a merge-to-last-selected-vertice operation, but found out there is no such thing as ORDER in a selection :)

I would be interested to see how you sorted it out (pun intended)

Hi Eskil, I'm getting into coding on blender more and more, and I'd like to get myself working on a distributed rendering client (known on the board as Render@home). although it seems like Verse is undergoing some big changes, I'm just wondering what your opinion is on such a program using verse. Fr...

*Note* pressing ALT-M (in lack of a handier hotkey) in editmode will MERGE vertices together. it's just like snapping and then removing doubles just a bit faster :) also, as a result of this there's a new snapping method in the SHIFT-S menu: Sel -> Center (sorry, as a newbie coder I'm kinda proud of...

better use irc.freenode.net straight away. openprojects.net is almost shut down. lots of coding help in #blendersauce , but also just a nice chat in #blenderchat </commercial> you can connect through a normal IRC client but also through the java-chat applet at www.elysiun.com and www.blenderchat.com...

Are you running Windows XP? because xp drivers suck. download the newest drivers (btw, it would have been better to ask this at the Q&A forum on elysiun)

Feature Ideas

I promise I'll only do this once! :) my ideas, tell me what you think of them: 1) view/render selector for Dupliverts just like the new subsurf feature, being able to turn dupliverts OFF for the viewport and ON for the render 2) Negative constraints: this would make envmapping a whole of a lot easie...

.... Beziers and nurbs are cubic interpolation curves, and a good cosinus and sinus approximation only comes when using 6th and 7th degrees Taylor series. Martin ahhhhh....taylor series.....I see..... (ahem :) ) so the shape of the circle is defined by a function? hmmm, that would make it harder :)...

hmmm, and of course a subsurfed cuve isn;t a perfect sphere, so we shouldn't use that either?

I'm happy to say I use curves for about 30% of my modelling.
have you tried making strange holes in a 64-vert circle? (eek!)

anyhoo, I noticed it a long time ago, but it isn;t such a big thing that I would bug ton with it (instead I'm bugging myself with it now, long live opensource ey? :D )

just one of those things that you don't notice unless you look for it :)

I nothing is perfect, but i've always wondered why the circle is so awefull. it's really anoying when you use a lot of curves like I do o well, I'll try to find the code that makes the circle an...
