Just so we're on the same page: currently a layer is a selection/group of objects, any of which could be represented on one or more of the 20 layers , with their visibility/renderability toggleable with that button or the associated shortcut. Are you saying that you'd like to yank the direct relati...

I second everything p_vertex_ wrote above. Especialy the separate/collate thing: Allmost nobody will know in advance what it's supposed to do, therefor it's distracting. And who would put a lot of numbered pictures out of more than 1 sequence into a single folder? Everbody manages files with a stand...

p_vertex_, about abstracting layers from shortcuts/buttons: I adressed that under "More than 20". Of course this has to be worked out. About grouping of layers: Curently a layer is a selection/group of objects represented by 1 of the 20 buttons, with it's visibility/renderabilty toggable with that b...

I've added new mockups on my page. Please take a look and comment (the second "Update" section). Hm, In my view the latest mokup is a bit too grouded Which one, Karim's or mine, and what do you mean with grouded? I agree with your thoughts about colour. However, I introduced some colour in my new mo...

Karim,

you're right. I didn't think about it this way, it seemed easier to indicate rendering as something additional.
I will present a modified mockup soon. Stay tuned ;-)

Thanks!

Some new stuff on my page, please check it out!

And to pinhead_66:
Nice you like it, but it would help if you could state what you would prefer from the different concepts.

I was thinking about the things knoxer has listed under constraints (making things parallel, horizontaly ...) and dimensioning (defining distances, sizes). Solidworks uses a collection of concepts to deal with these things on different levels. But it's always better to use only few, rather broad and...

In my experience some people fear that CAD means ugly, complicated software for engineers (not suited for designers or artists). Even if that would be the case for all available software, it still could be changed. The other thing is that many people think that CAD features will not be useful for cr...

Re: more colors for wireframe 3d view

is it possible to display the wires in the color you gave the material? (or maybe seerately define a color for the wire) Some apps have lit/shaded wireframe drawmodes. Making material color visible on wireframes could therefore be easily integrated into blender (gui-wise) by implementing it as draw...

yo pinhead_66, is the mixing of rounded and hard edges your only problem with the look? Besides a variation of the shape the only other sensible solution would be classic checkboxes or something similar. Or to entirely move away from the button thing ans use checkboxes with labels. Must not be a cha...

Interesting. Changing the '15' at the end of the url of the 2nd page to '30' brings me to page 3 of 2!
