You should probably post this in the elysiun.com forums, and search there for any dxf or illustrator-specific import scripts...

I have a feeling that it's not a standard dxf that illustrator is writing, but it's just a hunch.

Maybe try a smaller res, but yes blender uses OpenGL to draw it's entire interface, which means that part is very video-card dependant.

If you mean the interface, than I would search for matrox issues or read through the Documentation, yes the link in the menu bar to the left, and read about video card issues there. I'm sure the problem is the matrox video card (poor opengl support or something) so newer drivers might help, or you m...
