Please keep the engine in Blender

I´d like to express my gratitude for the existence of such a great application: Blender. As I´ve heard, the developers on the BF are talking about possible ways for the engine (keep developing or not). I think that the GE is one of the great advantages of the Blender suite. There is NO OTHER program...

Ok, so I´ll try to hack together a culling script for this project. I started by redoing the ground, since it´s the most problematic part, I guess. I made a grid of 576 objects and 576 jpegs with 256x256 pixels. Will then code a script that toggles some of the objects on or off depending of the the ...

I have the GameKit and I´ll check into the Bunny sector scheme.

Yes, a lot of work, to populate the scene with buildings... but the main focus point will be the center of the city.

I´ll keep you informed of our progress.

See if this makes any sense at all:

Does a scene created on 3.36 run faster that a scene created in 2.25 and then "ported" to 2.36?
Does any "junk" stay on the file if created on 2.25?
My scene was created first on 2.25.

Joeri, thanks a lot for taking your time with my scene! I already thought that the flor textures would be problematic. I´m running the scene here and still get decent FPS with my GeForce FX 5200 128MB (arounf 25FPS). The thing ids that there´s still much to be added to the model (polys and textures)...

Great, Joeri! Thanks! I´ll make this file available to you, for both FPS testing and general tips :D We have been focusing on modeling and texturing and thought about increasing the performance with raw power. We also thought the culling system would speed up the scene and make further sector optimi...

Graphic card issues

I´m struggling to squeeze some more performance out of my project in Blender (Brasilia 3D), so, besides scene optimization, I will be investing in some new hardware. So here comes my doubts: - What card would give a better performance for a Blender game? Quadro 3400 256MB (US$ 1400) GeForce 6800 Ult...

I tested this build and Blender crashes when I start the engine (P). On both Win 2000 and XP, using the Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick.
The 18/Dec build that had joystick support didn´t crash.
