Great work everyone. Is it true that the softbodies are still awaiting a "bake" option so that they can be rendered? Or am I missing something? on no, a softbody animation can be rendered right now, but it runs the softbody simulation code 'live'. The consequence is: Dynamic processes with friction...

This definition would make a "zippered" jacket a fluid ?

Re: What are Soft bodies and Rigid Bodies?

I hear about these all the time, but I've always wondered: what are they exactly? :?: Just buzzwords every one uses and everyone understands them a little different. Rigid bodies dynamics deals with mass centers, torque of inertia, angular momentums ... and assumes the shapes of the bodies do not v...

When I draw around in paint-texture mode (or the new in-uv-texture painter) and accidentally hit "CTRL + Z" ...everything get's one color and all work is lost. All links to the images in memory are gone even though they're there. WHY OH WHY? (Cries) Bug or my lack of knowledge?: /JoOngle hum .. tha...

.... You use a diferent vertexgroup (named; "SOFTGOAL") and you don't use the vertexgroups named like bones. hum .. I needed some tool to assign a number [0 .. 1.0] to a vertex. In this case the 'goal weight', but there are some others i can think of like e.g. mass per vertex modifier . Maya does i...

May be you don't named correctly the softobject (must be: soft+anything Ex: softSUSY) or may be you don't was create a vertexgroup called: softgoal. No, I named the object "softSphere", and got access to the Softbodies panel; then, I selected all of its vertices and created a vertex group called "S...

Okkey that is obscureway of adding softbodies... Now how do I use it after I tinker with the sliders ?? It's a way to obscure work in progress :) All that is working is the 'raw' physics engine and the UI is for testing that. How to convince it to do something: http://wiki.blender.org/bin/view.pl/B...

The "soft" button is a bit too large I think ... will it be replaced by a smaller one (with a small icon on it) ? I am pretty sure it will disappear, like the cryptic parameter panel. @scooter: There are no 'usable' softbodies in blender right now. There is an engine to simulate mass spring systems...

Hmm. Just noticed that bjornmose's test-blends for softbodies don't work for me anymore:/ Is it just me? I hit alt-a, and stuff start to move around, just without the softbody-effect. It might all be due to lack of sleep, though :roll: Edit: Ok. Tried with BM's old unofficial build, and it worked. ...

Looks like subdividing always calls
hypermesh_add_face(blah, blah, 4,blah);
to make sure all 4 pointers are valid.

geee what a hack.

Thanks for the build, Gabio. :D If there is going to be an updated release, will it be an increment of 2.35 or a fresh 2.36? AFAIK plan is to stay on b-con 5 until (sunday && (bug tracker < wild guessed limit )) then there 'll be a 2.36 so .. keep on testing everything you can think of this week an...

got it to compile! :D thanks for the tips man. Basically, 1) Remove PHY_Sumo from the blender dependencies 2) Change PHY_Physics to MT cheers \n EEEEK! this works too ? i suggested /* syncing with scons */ 1) removing SM_FUZZICS 2) Change PHY_SUMO to MT /* after giving it the proper target name :) ...

for the projects PHY_SOMO and BLENDER set
"Use run-time library" to multithreaded . (tab c/c++ , code generation)
You have to *rebuild all* because of the precompiled headers MSVC6 is using.
