well .. blending, you mean a brush copying from another image ? will need layers or something like it .... have no idea how to intgrate in UI.

if you want to build with gcc
you must "export FREE_WINDOWS=true"
in the user-def.mk like stated in the guides above.

if you want to build with MSVC, iluvblender is right.

Have started testing these today in a work environment. I don't have much feedback as of yet but a couple of suggestions.
