Freesolid is solid 2 while the solid in the game engine is solid 3, and there are signifigant differences between them, they might not even be compatible. But things are looking up, as some people are picking up the ODE integration again. We might not even need solid at all if they have success, alt...

SO we get to work with the physics enabled, but can't release it until the SOLID source is released? Am I understanding correctly? If that's the case, I guess its the best we can do, when will the developers be able to download the binaries?

I don't see how you equate using .tga's with multitexturing. Multitexturing is really nice for terrain, where you want to blend a repeating grass texture with, say, a repeating dirt texture. Doing a lot of this is really difficult without multitexturing. Also, consider where you want something to ha...

You can unpack the sounds, then delete the files it makes on your hard drive, then pack again, and save, and all sounds will be gone. Or you could just delete the ones you want to delete. You should be able to have it pull the sounds out of an external directory, but it always changes the path from ...

Python is a very valuable tool to cross some of blender's limitations. But without any scripting, there is still quite a lot you can do. But you can't do saving (have to use passwords or something instead), the speed of the engine is pretty slow because it trys to render all the objects (even object...

Oh right, I remember that. They tried crystal space before deciding to write their own engine:) But I still think that since the current engine was developed on its own, that it wouldnt be easy to write something that converts it to crystal space. Might be doable though, I dunno. It would be nice to...

Um, they never released a crystal space engine, I don't know if they toyed with the idea, but both engiens in blender, enji(old) and ketsji(new) are not related to crystal space. Blender's game engine is designed to be integrated within the creation tools, namely the gamelogic, wheras crystal space ...

The interface conformity can't really be written into the verse spec because verse is a protocol that can be used for many more things than just blender. However, strict guidlines for the core pieces of the NGB could be defined, or maybe there will be a seperate interface component that interacts wi...

Hey I think I actually remember this article. It was interesting back then, and still quite interesting now:) I think the verse spec is longer but I haven't compared them. It's too bad emporer ton couldn't take over the world, but maybe with some time and growth, his software baby can:) All still go...

go to projects, then multiplayer

Blender_owl is working on one in c++, writing the client side in python.

I would say go ahead with it:) Maybe talk to owl first though.

Feature request

Just getting this feature out there, I don't think many of you have thought of it. What about a multi-object mode. Where you can uvmap, edit vertices, and vertex paint multiple meshes AT THE SAME TIME. This would be a really useful feature, as you can keep objects seperated and yet have the control ...
