I've had the same problem, I had to install the libopenal0 package (easy on a debian system, but I'm sure some googling will help), it's some kind of a 3d sound library as I understand.

Is it just me, or the have the scales changed? I mean I'm working on the normal scale I used to work on, and 5000 max for the camera seems to be pretty low, so is the 100 for the sunlight. Is there a way to change this?

The whole point is to make available the new stuff since yesterday as development speeded up big time, and also to have them tested. I wouldn't expect him to write lengthy posts everyday for those who are new to this.

jamesshuang: No, sorry, I've changed it, but it's just a box with another box in it. The glass is very simple to modell, and the blue ball is also not that hard. You need full GI method, pull up the radius ( I use 35), and the mix count (I used 300), and you need lots of photons. There is the tune p...

Another test: Larger room, light farther away, but accordingly stronger, still only one lightsource, and I seem to have some caustics there as well, and some photon artifacts too. http://web.axelero.hu/ceze1/pmtest2.jpg And one more and I quit bothering you, but this feature is so amazing: http://we...

It seems to work for me, but it takes a lot of tweaking and I'm not sure it gives the results it is supposed to give, but then again, I don't know what results it's supposed to give. http://web.axelero.hu/ceze1/pmtest.jpg Only one light source in this one, and the whole thing is inside a closed box....

Hm, they seem to work for me. Of course out of numerous tries I've got only one acceptable result, but hey, that's something :D

Unfortunately I didn't save the blend.

Thank you for the global photonmap! :D How do I get specularity on objects with no alpha in yafray? How do I get them to cast shadows according to their alpha in yafray? dotblend: There was one posted in one of the linux builds' thread. I think this one was supposed to do that: http://www.coala.unio...

How do you get caustics to work? Can it only be done by using pathlight (doesn't work for me that way neither).

blinblin:

I had that yesterday as well. The rendered scene looked like as if the lights were mirrored horizontaly, but I just deleted the camera, put in a new one and everything was fine.

Just want to say thank you for every progress going on lately. It's amazing. Brought me back to blender. And I can't wait to have caustics and photon lights for yafray inside blender :)

Ok, I'm pretty dumb, so I posted this in yesterdays thread, but it didn't show there, so again: shadow only doesn't work with raytraced shadows.
is there a bug collecting place for cvs builds besides here? I mean I couldn't find where to post this, or if it has been posted already :?
