Hi, I tried to use a Doom3 normalmap with blender and found the tests disappointing, so I made a comparison between Blender and Doom3 normal maps in Photoshop with this result: http://lusque.altervista.org/immagini/blender_doom3_normalmap.jpg As you can see there are some differences: 1: the green c...

There is an easy and wrong solution for this :!: All you need to replicate a raytraced lamp are 6 shadowbuffer spot. Just place tyhem in the same position but pointing into orthogonal directions (north, south, east, west, up and down) like the faces of a cube. Set them to have square spotbundles and...

I think the "rotate edge" feature behaves in a strange way: - add a plane - press W subdivide it a couple of times - select an edge (either in point mode or edge mode) - press Ctrl-E and select "rotate edge" then Blender rotates it and another edge too !!! It get worse when you extrude: - add a plan...

I tried to put that .dll in Blender folder on my brother's computer.
It rebooted without even showing the blue screen of death.

He has a AthlonXP 1800+ WinXP Pro and a ATI Radeon 7000

Hi, wonderful work :D , the Ambient Occlusion is a great effect, but I noticed something strange about it: - When I set AO button Add and do a series of renderings with energy=1 , energy=2 , energy=3 , they (the renderings) become more and more lighter ( more illuminated. OK) - When I set AO button ...

wow!!! I tought 2.32 was a revolutionary version, and I see that's happening again  For the Ambient Occlusion: what about an AOTool like the RadiosityTool? I mean, instead of a complete raytracing solution, just compute the vertices colors like the rendertime radiosity. I think it would be fa...

As far as I have understood, a yafray binary for this photon support still needs to be made available...? Sorry for my very bad english  All I wanted to know is: Can I use photonlight with Blender (today daily build) and YafRay (0.0.6-pre2)? Or do I have to wait for another Blender/YafRay bui...

YAY, thank you for those wonderful daily builds. :D And thanks to all the coders for this hard work.   (we are not worthy...) Global photons export for YafRay. Square arealights, spot and point can work as emitters. Needs latest yafray code, still not in cvs. Does it mean we ha...

Hi, I have the same problem but on WindowsXP: I double-click on a blend file, it opens Blender 2.31a, I work the file then hit CTRL-W or F2 to save it, but it is renamed something like E:\HOME\BLENDER~2\project\045363~1.BLE (Yes, even the directory!!!) I work around at this by renaming the file in t...

Hi guitarius, welcome on board :D For the rendering problem: make sure you have at least one lamp one object and one camera in your scene. Rotate the camera to the object (press NUMPAD_0 to get the camera-view in a 3d window). Hit F12 For everything else: Have you tried the www.elysiun.com forums? T...

:!: Oh, I forgot!!!

Blender does have a sort of undo!!!

If you enter Edit-mode and modify a mesh you can revert to the previous state of the mesh by pressing the U-KEY before exiting Edit-mode

Also try the tutorials on www.blender3d.org
bye

Hi soulclaimed, 1. The other plane moves because the 2 planes are the same object. When you create an object (the first plane) Blender enters in Edit-Mode so you can modify the vertices of that object. If you create another object (the second plane) before exiting Edit-Mode Blender will add the vert...
