When using Yafray to render... For the first time when starting up Blender and hitting F12 to render it keeps asking about 10 times for a cygwin1.dll file Everything works fine besides that (after that)....but every time I restart Blender...that one comes up. Is it just me or is Yafray just ton's ti...

And here's my bit :) I reccomend running Blender on a 3d accellerated Linux platform, preferably with an Nvidia FX 5900 or above, that will bring you UNMATCHED speed when modelling.. I get 600.000 triangles in REAL TIME (25 fps) speed when modelling with Blender 2.33a under Linux and the mentioned g...

what made Maya so great to big studios, and the answer was simply "MEL". The ability to be able to script your own tools quickly and easily, to be able to export your data to any format you know the specs for, to be able to tailor the interface to your personal workflow and to be able to fit it in ...

Wouldn't it be easier to just paint the transition right on top directly on the 3D model? IHMO, once it's unwrapped correctly for good, painting the transitions right in the 3D view is much easier than having to reunwrap and recreate a new UV map for transitions. What do you think? Martin That is o...

From what I can gather, most studios don't really want someone that is an "expert" in one package. Most studios want someone who are proficient with traditional arts such as Drawing & Painting. I've spoken to a few from Pixar, and they all say the same thing: It's your previous work that counts. If ...

Heh,,everything seems to be rendered "slightly greenish" even though the RGB settings are fully neutral. Could this be due to the fact that I just put your .exe file inside my standard Blender directory? Or isn't the config files 100 % compatible for screen setups etc.? It's a lot faster than the BF...

Great work - I'm really looking forward to try my current
projects with the new OSA improved.

When will a LINUX build be out? Anyone care to do it?

Thanks again,

Yeah I agree. And here's my story in it: For 4 years ago I bought 3dstudio max (full commercial package), And during that time and for some years, I had a lot of requests from "kids" that wanted to copy my commercial software, and a lot of warez-kiddies that often asked for license-keys and cracks i...

Thanks Koba & Theeth...... But... Yafray is Nigthmarishly slow (yeah, I've heard that people say it's fast, and fast compared to other GI-renderers) but not really... I have 3dstudio max with Vray & other GI renderers...they're lightning fast compared to Yafray. I rendered an "animation-table-scene"...

Skin shader - REAL translucensy

Can it be done? Will it be done? It's a dream of mine that it'll appear in Blender one day. Sure - there are a dozen ways to fake real translucensy in skin, but just to make it clear what I mean - a short summary: Have you ever seen your girlfriend in the sunlight? Or a baby's face when the sun or o...

crsrma - You're not shooting with blanks, you're right :) I'll test further and report back. But still...this shouldn't be anyway. As I read in the OSX thread....Ton appear to have fixed this issue as it had something to do with skylight??!?! Ok....We'll see in the next release. I'm onto it...testin...
