You must be doing it wrong, I tried with 2 objects a sphere and a cube (using blender internal render) with 2.61 and it worked fine.

Can you post a blend file if your still having issues?

The 3dview only renders things within a certain zone. (the clipping)

Did you look in the outliner? Is the object showing up there? If so I'm guessing your getting clipping and your trying to create the object outside of the rendered distance. If you goto view->Properties and then adjust the clipping values you can get around this and or move closer/farther so that th...

Yes you can. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Extensions/Python/FAQ unfortunately a lot of the 2.6 documentation isn't written yet. So you'll have to hunt around in the API documentation and play with it to figure it out. Blender will also import a bunch of standard file formats so y...

I just tried this on a macbook pro with blender -2.61 (64bit) and had no problems. Note object != mesh safest way is to import the entire scene from your secondary blend file and then you can easily see if things are working. I just tried it with 2 simple cubes that I slightly modified and everythin...

With blender you can also set start and end frame so you could just do the
seperate renderings with blender.
If you haven't you should check out scene's in blender and learn how they
work.

The simplest solution would be just make frame blocks for each animation.

frames 1-60 are walk cycle
frames 60-120 are run
....

Just open up a text document and note whats what so you can keep it
straight.

I'm guessing you are in perspective mode. Try using numpad 1,3 or 7
and then use numpad 5 to toggle between ortho and perspective mode. The background images will not show up in perspective mode.

Materials are basically getting a revamp with cycles, and the interface will be much cleaner. You will still have nodes for materials and they will be better. :) Check out one of the tutorials on getting started with cycles and download the latest 2.61 RC build which will be coming out in the next d...

Texture plugins haven't really been ported to the new stuff.
The old system was a pain in the butt and no one has come up with a good replacement yet....

If your really interested in this stuff look at the cycles material code and work off of that, that is where things are headed right now...

On the mac many of the f keys are mapped to special features. You can disable that but its a pain in the butt to do so. To render an image via the gui you want to use: Inside the render tab on the properties window Click the Image button. Then inside the UV/Image Editor which will pop up by default ...

In the render tab under output you want to make sure you have RGBA clicked vs the default RGB You also want to pick a file format that supports alpha Then you just need to read in your frames with whatever program your using. All a sprite sheet is, is a bunch of images lined up into one image. You n...
