The Blenderart mag has been out for a little while already, but I concluded more recently that it really is the best next to the Blenderartists website. I hope to see a little more focus for gameengine features in the next issue, so I am offering my help. I'm not really much of a developer (yet), I'...

Feature Request: Reassurance

Blender has turned out to be the little engine that could a good number of times, but sometimes I just get worried that it's not going to make the jump through the ring of fire -- even when it comes to rendering: the most automated & human error-proof process of all. I'm asking for some reassurance....

Great response so far, everyone. In regards to the face Loop selection stuff: I liked using both the [alt]+[rmb] method, and I probably used it the most during 2.37 days. The other method I didn't find necessary unless I was working with a very complicated mesh and I didn't want to make a mistake. T...

Here's something from the Orange site: http://orange.blender.org/blog/live-lscm-unwrap Holy Carp that's amazing. As for the 3dsmax that someone posted on the orange site, I guess good for them finally realizing that for years their UV mapping window sucked arse... The vertex color to uv image baker...

Just out of curiosity, what is stopping any of you from helping out with The Blender Community Game Project ( BCGP: http://bcgp.dyndns.org )?

Firefox 1.5 is out. Having problems?

Firefox 1.5 came out this week. I was just having trouble in the testing build section. I wondered if maybe it was my shiney new browser, or what. In any case, go download the new version, it's almost exactly like using the 1.0 version!!! omg! :D

There are a lot of sound formats that are not supported yet. If you're running the game engine, mp3 and MIDI are not the only desireable formats, so one must use an outside python-bound library. fmod openAL openAL is currently being implimented into Blender (sloooowly). I'm all for implementing mult...

I couldn't find a "live LSCM" feature anywhere in the new feature docs, the wiki, or just browsing around in this test build. What should I be looking for?

Also, does anyone know if the hard-coded texture baker made it into 2.4?

This might not be quite the right place to comment about this, but I really want to thank you for adding the ability to have texture-controlled particle emission. I was recently working on aproject that required it heavily, and I couldn't find a way to do it in 3ds max, or after effects which made t...

"game texture" versus "rendered texture"

Ever done a lot of work in the game engine? Let's say all of a sudden there's a scene that's too intense for any normal computer to handle and it's less expensive to just render the segment out as a movie. How do you tackle it? If you had a really nice capturing card you could just capture the real ...

I'm having a problem making my bagel taste good with my espresso over here. Tomorrow I'm having cappuccino with my bagel instead. I'll keep you guys up to date with the results.

Maybe later plugins for Blender could include...
  • Oven
    Spatula
    Baguette
    Muffin
I'm hungry... All this talk of food!

You should get in contact with ton
I'll have to agree with that. He makes the final decision. Hopefully the ranting will still help ton from getting too many e-mails.

btw, thanks Letterrip. I had a letterslip (ha!)

The blender logo, eye and text, are copyright of NaN and thus now the Blender foundation. It's virtually the only thing blender-associated that's protected by Trademark law. Ton & others have already expanded on the usage rules of the blender logo before, so I'll just be regurgitating: The logo can'...

With a mixer, it would also be really easy to hang an "audience mic" from the ceiling. I agree that it was really hard to hear the questions asked. I've watched the videos two years in a row, and I've gotta say that I'm really excited about trying to put together a presentation of my own -- and usin...
