The new particle features need a GUI overhaul

Below is a link to the newly added particle options posted today in the CVS build. The GUI as you will see is even worse than it used to be.

[edit] The new patch does include some very nice features though! [/edit]

It's time to redesign!

I just want to note that I think the wisest cursor for vertex paint is still a circle as it has always been except it could just show up all the time and not just during the button press. Secondly, maybe a dual circle would be good since the current inverted color doesn't show up on the default grey...

A: I'd love to see how one of your test models looks with blender's decimator run on it. B: I agree with the floor reference. That's how "Augmented reality" works. All you need is a high contrast reference, for example, a bunch of white space, a black square, and a white square in one corner of the ...

Do it. I use RSS whenever it's available. It'll lighten the load on the blender.org server too I bet. or better yet, it'll make the load heavier by bringing in more people.

not to sound mean, but the fact that you have windows ME sounds like a problem in itself.

There's an old bug where the lamp's icon disappears.

All other things I thought were bugs aren't really bugs, except that one time that the center dot was only visible with two objects overlapping, but not one, and it was weird, and I can't figure out how to replicate the behavior.

using move while looking through a camera is all backwards now. But it was "backwards" before. At first, I thought the speed was really low in comparison, but now I found out it's the same. I guess there's just a whole mess of things I'll have to adjust to.

Ready for the big party?

I feel like having a party when 2.37 comes out. Seriously. I just got my t-shirt in the mail today. It's pretty awesome. But anyway, about that party... What would one do at a Blender party? I think, we play games possibly made in blender (though there's.. hardly any playable ones with joystick supp...

(I recently was trying to find more gestures myself, once and for all.) If you check out the wikibook "blender: From Noob to Pro" There are only 3, presently. move: straight line rotate: a C-shaped curve scale: a V-shape line I'd love to see some more gestures, honestly. I think it's a neato feature...

I concur with joeri. This is a fantastic demo link. Fluid dynamics ARE very important to be shooting towards. Glu3D and RealFlow are the leading dynamic fluid simulators. They work well. They are also very slow. But the end results are amazing. Why don't you pull out your copy of Shek and watch the ...

I understand exactly what this would do.
I say tear it out. Treat it like Yafray. Later, I bet we'll decide to have further integration with the revamped game engine.

Or better yet, it might just provoke some people to get involved with making a really good Ogre3D exporter.
