In the 3D view, press the N key to make the properties shelf (on the right) visible if it isn't already. Look for the panel headed "Display"; click the little triangle to expand it if its contents aren't already showing.

Now go wild.

For a player, VLC is a free download and can play just about any format worth playing. It's probably preferable to QuickTime. For the encoding, have Blender render to individual frames in lossless PNG format at a minimum. Then you can use something like FFmpeg to encode it to your choice of delivery...

I don’t understand what you mean. The default scaling (without constraints) is uniform, which means all dimensions get multiplied by the same scale factor.

Can be done. You need to set up a number of things: * Under the “Image Sampling” panel in the textures tab, make sure “Use” is checked under “Alpha” (I think this is the default). * Under the “Influence” panel in the textures tab, make sure you have both colour and alpha checked in the “Diffuse” set...

Any chance you can try Nvidia’s (proprietary, I know) drivers, just for comparison?

How complete are the Nouveau drivers supposed to be? If this is supposed to work, may be worth mentioning it to the Nouveau developers. It could be something they’ll want to look at.

“Linking” is done by including a reference to the parent .blend file where the object actually resides. Yes, you should be able to have any number of links to the same .blend file, and even to the same object in that .blend file. There’s nothing in the parent .blend file to indicate anything is link...

Under the Render tab, there is an “Output” panel. Here you choose the directory to which to render animation frames, and the format. I would recommend sticking with a high-quality single-frame format, like PNG (or maybe OpenEXR for pro work). That way each frame of the animation is generated as a se...
