exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Can we get a coder's opinion?

a "bug" I'd like back

Loopcut affected hidden verticies many moons ago. This was reported as a bug (so I'm told) and fixed. I would like that bug back (or atleast an option). Here is why. Imagine: You are modeling the most gorgeous face, you have your edgeloops nicely laid out. But it's pretty high-res, so you hide the b...

simple work-around:

1) make tga that is totally transparent, but with an opaque border.
2) assign this material with uv mapping. (where every face is the whole image)

disadvantages:
does not work with uv-mapped objects
thickness of edges varies with face size

First of all, I want to commend you on a well layed out proposal. After reading the whole thing, i must say i agree on a few points. However, I have to admit that I crinkled my nose in disgust at some of the suggestions. I have noticed that there seems to be a general trend in your proposal. Things ...

i prefer the file select over the image browser.

I find that usually i know which file im looking for and dont need the preview. More fits on the screen in the file select window, and generally changes directories faster.

overall, i like it! my only complaint is that in someplaces two clicks are needed where one was before. for example: unless you know the hotkeys, you now have to make two clicks if you want to jump straight to the material buttons and you were previously editing the texture buttons. also, you used t...

I couldn't read the article ("page cannot be displayed") but I think companies would have to have some motivation to develop for blender. I am sure discreet is paying big bucks, or promising big things. What could blender give?

broken: that, I think, is what we are proposing- a group to organize, research and "refine" the scattered feature requests that exist. NOT a group to think of cool features; plenty of those exist already. Ideally the group would contain both coders and artists, producing the blueprints of features. ...
