Well, I dont' just suspect it. I am in many game engines comunities, and I help quite a bit on most of them (doubts, tricks, etc) (not only with Blender, anyway) I do see the big amount of game making people using Blender. [ just as a fast sample: Wintermute, Irrlicht(massively, both), Ogre, Torque,...

a way to set an edge as hard -wings3d like- would be really sweet. Vertex normals stuff. I know the y key split workaround, but much slower than in Wings hit the hotkey to se an edge hard or smooth...besides, is better in several cisrumstances -specially several game engine exports- not to break the...

cekhunnen, there are a lot of engines supporting x format (irrlicht, darkbasic pro, gamestudio, truevision3d, quest3d, etc...Just to mention a few, there are really many ) but Blitz3d x format supported is the one without bones and weights. That x format is ok for space ships, etc, and while is bett...

First, than you very much for your effort. *.x format has become really important as character animation game format. I was one of your testers for the first versions. It was really rewarding to see it evolving. I think your decision of leave also a dx7 version working is good, and yet very usable. ...

can not directx 9 load a directx 8 file?
yup, it can.

Just use Ben's external plugin, or Jox modification of it, which suits you better.

edit: Nope ,download from that link...seems you can export extra stuff that dx9 supports...

Good link.

Ok...I prefer not to directly post there, as I may dirt the thread a bit in the sense I am not the author so don't know of the majority if their licenses are totally gpl compliant, neither if the short explanation in the header that tends to be more than enough for me, is enough for including in Ble...

There are certain plugins that'd be very interesting to be supported with newer blender's versions: md2 , md5, *.x , ms3d, md3, OBJ, *.3ds, ase. As those are most often used by game engines. Comercial, open source, freeware, or free non cmercial engines, do use these formats. Even more, md2, such an...

those versions numbers look like the usual re-numbering done by firefox when downloading in a folder where there's a file with that name already.

i think it's python 2.3.4 for Blender 2.37a
