I think we might be saying the same thing money man. Ability to have several UV coordinate maps per object right? Having only one set of UV coordinates is enough, and there is no reason at all to support more than one. This would be a serious nighmare for render structures and provides no real gain...

If you could add a little colour to faces selected in face select mode (instead of the barely visible lines), that would rock. This would be a huge improvement. It's very hard to see what you have selected in UV/Face Select mode! (In the 3D window..) That was something I already had idea to add, I ...

bf-blender Os X 10.3 pre-release 2.33a

This a test build for 10.3 users : http://jlp.nerim.net/dev/blender.zip Please test it and feedback here. Points which have greatest importance : - Python scripts (list working and not working ones) - Sequencer - Animation stuff (IPO, NLA, ...) as those are things I don't know very well yet. Should ...

but by launching the core of blender it allready goes full screen, keeping the ability to switch to other apps... so if u sum to this the posibility to hide the menu bar(if its possible..), you'll get a kind of kiosk mode.."maybe" without breaking anything. lauching from the core is a bad idea as t...

Not impossible Blender doing all in OpenGL, but quite difficult. Apple call this kiosk mode, but you have to disable other apps in such a config, and mainly all window services and finder. This also mean you loose the ability of switching to an app that need the system menu. finally this will break ...

Are you using 10.3 build and 10.2 ?

make sure you use the last one (blender-2.33-1-darwin-7.3)

Re: Blender 2.33 for Macosx 10.3(panther) not launching

hi, just downladed the last version of blender and it isn't launching on macosx 10.3, I heard other users had the same problem, on differents machines running on panther. Trashed the .B.blender file just in case but doesn't changed anything. that's what the console says: dyld: /Applications/Blender...

Just my 2 cents I like the proposal that was in the original post. But is it possible to have these selection modes while keeping the ability to make a non manifold mesh? Being able to create edges and verticies without faces is something that I really like about blender. A non manifold mesh can be...

One thing is obvious here: We cannot suddenly opt for a completely closed surface system, since Blender is very often used to create open meshes. An open mesh structure with a winged edge modeling structure and style is more the aim as far as I would prefer. I agree on open meshes mandatory. You on...

I agree that we need different modes, but I don't agree about the changes you suggested to vertices and edges extrusion. For one thing, this would become messy very fast without n-gon support. Also, while having them as option is nice, it is only a necessity if you work with a closed object paradig...

it works with most 3d-games in Apple...and they all run OpenGL I don't see why it wouldnt work for Blender. But as it is now...blender is horribly slow with OpenGL. Hey, Are you kidding ? I'm working on a 650 k Vertices scene just now with a G4 867 Mhz notebook which has an old ATI card, and it's s...

Better smoothing

Does a better smoothing on meshes (without shrinkage) appeals to you as a feature ?

Looking for a way to contribute, I've found mean curvature flow smoothing method, which does not seem to be too hard to implement.

problem building tuhopuu on OS X

I try to build tuhopuu on Panther and stumble on an error in makefiles : ====> make all in source/blender/source Makefile:571: *** multiple target patterns. Stop. make: *** [all] Error 1 I use the NaN makefile system, and bf-blender builds good the same way ? As anyone stumble on the same problem or...
