lukep, And btw, as the first release of the unnoficial specification dates from 1994 and was not sued before, the coryright holders have loose a lot of grounds to defend them, as you need to fight any infringement you are aware of. I'm pretty sure that it is only trademark law that requires dillige...

From what I've seen .3ds is a proprietary format (i.e. read 'copyrighted') from autodesk/discreet. The format is freely available on the internet as people around the world have hexed it to death. Can autodesk try to enforce it's copyright - sure. However, in the case of open-source software I don'...

Re: volume and inertial parameters calculation?

I'm a university researcher working mainly with inverse-dynamic biomedical simulations. I had the need to manage a complex laser-scanned model of a prosthesis with RHINO for its ability to automatically compute volume and inertial properties of a model. My intent is to introduce the use of BLENDER ...

aoe2bug, I was just mentioning that after you hit the "B" key, you have exactly the right-to-left window option like in AutoCAD, it just doesn't do it automatically. I think Lukep took an opportunity to bash AutoCAD ... The statement of not working in 3D and only in 2D confused me since that's what...

I like the way AutoCAD does it.... drag a window from left to right- only objects completely within the window are selected. Drag a window from right to left and any object touched by the box is selected :D Hmm. as an ex Autocrade user, i would *hate* to get this selection method in blender. works ...

Hey Zarf, I really appreciate these builds. I've been trying to compile my own on OS X 10.3.8, but I'm having fits. The official link for OS X in the "compiling your own" thread is broken. Would you care to share what method you're using to compile (X-code, Scons, make?), and maybe some setup info?...

Not sure, but I think the current status is: Very busy :) some devs have indeed engaged the post-combustion ;) The armature system has changed a lot lately, but to get an idea of where we go, grab a CVS build from the test build forum. Those builds have sometimes some bugs, but are generally perfec...
