Blender user population map..

I wonder if there would be a way to show the density of blender users in the world mapped over a geographic map, so as to determine good places to form users groups or have blender conferences.. I would suggest a kind of poll where nothing is required more than just a persons name and his location, ...

Support for JPS would be nice..

Its very easy to support and would be a nice little feature enhancement.. JPS is Stereo Jpeg format, its just JPEG format, but instead of one image, you have two. There is two possible ways of supporting it: freeform (harder, flexible): one scene for each eye then render the two scenes to one jps fi...

Blender 2.34 is much nicer!!!

I have a friend who wrote software that is used for texturing objects and such.. It used to be I had to really pretend to be impressed by blender to show him what I could do with blender. I spent the better part of today playing around with the ramp speculars and surface shaders, I use the ray-traci...

Idea: Blender Plugin to preview textures/blend files..

I was wondering how many people would be interested in having blender as a embedded plugin for previewing textures/blend files.. Not like gameblender, but as a sort of 3D embedded viewer. If there was to ever be a development, as such, I would suggest doing it in firefox, which seems to be quite sec...

Something funky with shadows in Stereo views..

I am using my eyes to combine these, I have the physical ability to parallelize images about 10 degrees with each eye (I look like I have lazy eyes when I do it, but it allows me to compare images). Here's the concern, it seems that the shadows for the area light in blender are not casting light cor...

Future thought: Take existign use of texture as forces to particles, apply as a user defineable force for Leon's particles. ---------------------- Implementation of animated mesh as force in Leon's particle forces.. Imagine if you could take mesh on frame 1, and the same mesh deformed on frame 2, an...

You are absolutely right. Blender's RVK though work with a diff system, albeit only dealing with position. That's the real problem with doing a diff based system is that there's A LOT of planning to do in advance. You have to account for all the different possible actions. Position change is the ea...

The quick fix is enough..

Well there is a fix that someone mentioned back aways, that is to obtain the atiglx.dll file from a previous install of the driver libraries, I think if you do a search for it you will find the reference. That's what I'm using now for 2.33a and it works fine, but I guess it could be a problem if the...

Re: To really start a fight..

Support for multiple monitors.. Literally just allowing multiple windows so you can work in one monitor and preview in the other. That's something which must be done in GHOST lib. Not easy if you want to support properly the case of different cards with different capability. Well the "preview" wind...

How about proper all-round UNDO? And standard hotkeys such as Ctrl/Cmd-Z = Undo, Ctrl/Cmd-O = Open, etc. These things, along with more logical and well thought out buttons, would sure help sell Blender to professional studios and amateurs alike. Yeah.. However it doesn't make blender a 4th generati...

What I want to know is why does Mozilla Firebird have 150 plugins and blender has hardly anything in the way of plugins.. That's because blender doesn't have a real plugin API, and yet this is supposed to be a feature. Maybe we should offer a 2D version of blender for those who get sick from disori...

actually I was talking about collision detection, rigid body dynamics and particles, really the game engine's features should also be part of blender's features, the only reason they are not is blender is in C and gameblender is in C++. That's just so not true. Ghost is in C++ and it's the backbone...

Blender 2.34 What would you do with it?

I'm partially wondering if it would be possible to say do particle subtitution using a golf ball and have a thousand golf balls falling from the sky maybe with an animation of tiger woods dodging them? I know what you are thinking.. Of course blender can already do that, but now the balls can bounce...

Re: Why not have SIGGRAPH twice a year..

Then we would get two major revisions of blender a year. However I guess the conference would become less significant.. Ha! isn't it already less significant than it was before? True.. Maybe having it twice a year could make it more significant, particularly if there were more major releases of ble...
