Re: Blender Logo?

Useless question, but where did the little yellow guy come from? I mean, it can't be the mascot because that's Suzanne's job. What exactly is it...? :? I think it was wierdhat's derived mascot, blendo, that you are talking about.. The blender logo was based on the original blender eye fron the neog...

Re: Blender & OpenGL ,DirectX

use OpenGL , you can do something like it : http://www.humus.ca/index.php?page=3D&&start=8 So, What is difference between Blender and OpenGL ( or DirectX) on making these products. What is advantage of Blender ? Can you tell me. OpenGL and DirectX are for realtime rendering, they are languages (mor...

Hmm

The vertex definition direction is a common way of specifying normal direction. If nobody knows, myself included, best thing to do is go into blender.. Make a cube, starting at 0,0,0 and ending at 1,1,1.. then save it as a VRML file.. Look at the VRML file.. If the vertices in the cube read for a qu...

BTW, what about implementing some cool features from ZBrush 2 for organic modeling? Modo is a great modeling app, ZBrush 2 is the ONLY organic modeler around. And it has very innovative features (starting from the interface, very smart IMHO). Ugh Zbrush 2's interface is awful for tablets but Blende...

I've suggested in the past how to handle the muscles..

How about this.. using joint rotations to control RVK frames. You know about facial animation in blender using RVK.. Instead of controlling the RVK with a curve over time, the RVK is controled by a grey-scale image map with respect to the UV coordinates of the joint (0,0) <--->(1,1) . The joints U a...

XSI has a upgrade to essentials for 3DsMax6 users

I was pretty impressed with sega's animanium.. I asked them if they plan a port to blender and said they weren't.. I think it be extra incentive to be able to sell a complete package with blender bundled in by default to allow people to get up and running quickly with a plugin like animanium, but I ...

I hijaked the discussion, but for good reason.

Your idea in itself isn't so bad, except for the fact that it had very little to do with the topic in a thread about FBX inclusion. FBX is a file format.. I admit I hijaked the discussion, but the perfect place for these media objects to be implemented is here, on blender.. Its the only application...

to make it short : the FBX sdk isn't compatible with the GPL, so unless someone code it from scratch, i guess we won't see it integrated soon... That shouldn't be an issue. It just can't be statically linked, but instead needs to be loaded as a dll/so (just like it's done with quicktime now). To ex...

to make it short : the FBX sdk isn't compatible with the GPL, so unless someone code it from scratch, i guess we won't see it integrated soon... a truely open format would be cool. doesn't vrml already does that ? If not you should find someone to code it and realease it under bsd or MIT, but it wo...

You're talking about so much that you're talking about nothing. Your posts just take on this monotone "inner-monologue-on-the-web" form and are nearly impossible to follow. If you have a coherent and important thing to say you should be able to do it in less than 30 paragraphs. One short comment li...

I have been with blender for about a year now and the feature list has skyrocketed. ? I think about 7% has been added the last 5 years. In my perception development is getting slower and slower. Sure we get a new interface (again) and some people think rad is better than deg, but from scratch till ...

well this is an annoyingly pointless thread. we all know that in the end if we want more features we just wait. I have been with blender for about a year now and the feature list has skyrocketed. just look at the f1 competition for an idea of the improvement in user skill and program power. if you ...

Is this actually so?
No, that is BS.

Hey XSI has been around for a couple of decades, blender can maybe tout about a decade or so, but that would be pushing it. That is downright false. XSI has only been around since 1999 (maybe 1998?). It was first released close to when Blender was made publicly available. Softimage was available in...
