If you could do that, mo-cap from video would naturally follow since its just the correlation of points from several cameras..

How blender could have construction history..

I know that if I say a lot, most will never read what I wrote, or will lose interest.. Anyhow, basically this.. Make a new primitive (like a surface or a mesh) call it a procedural primitive.. Have it use python scripts to generate it.. Make it modifiable like a mesh, but allow the python methods to...

hmmm

Rigid Bodies are as some have said, they are objects that have a rigid shape, they can't deform.. Rigid Bodies first were made accessible to many people on Maya.. Some of the first tests I saw done with it were thwoing a bowling ball at a trashcan and watching the lid warble on the ground.. You can ...

Re: Well so far..

Maybe now Lightwave has grown up, but I doubt Lightwave could be placed in the same league I think most people/users here talk about modeling/rendering, not animation. Just look at all the people who want blender to be wings. In that perspective lightwave can feel much easier to handle than Xsi. In...

Well so far..

I got the ATI card deal with Softimage.. Softimage is having problems though processing the serial numbers from ATI.. Seems a problem with the integration in the websites lincesing issuing.. I talked with them several times about it, and said they would call me.. I think tommorow I'm going to demand...

Hmm

Get XSI 4.2 Foundation fro 500 dollars and use blender with it.. In 1996 Microsoft's purchase of XSI was the reason Alias/Wavefront was merged at the hip.. The fear was that Microsoft would Own SGI's market, at the time.. I guess Softimage is wising up now years after Gates dumped them off on AVID. ...

Got it..

I talked to the lady at XSI, and she said the bundle deal of the Firegl Card and XSI, has XSI 4.2 . I purchased the package this morning. The lack of hair and other things mentioned, doesn't bother me, I think hair is too cliche anyhow.. Besides, where else do you find animated construction history ...

Just an opinion..

There is also another deal, XSI with ATI FireGL T2-128 card.. I'm looking to get the bundle instead, but I'm going to check if its XSI 4.0 or if its 4.2.. I'm reading that 4.2 is unstable.. It sounds like Softimage is trying to adopt more users.. But am wondering if they can handle the support for t...

Looking to get XSI

I obtained Buzz tutorials on XSI, and have done the tutorials, and I can honestly say its pretty cool. I think blender is still years away from being able to replicate it, but I think XSI would do better to adopt the interface unification of blender, still too much gadgets.. Its like that.. The Inte...

vertex, face, edge selection more rigid..

Something I've noticed with the new version of blender, I
can't select a vertex off the edge of the screen. I understand that the
selection system has changed, but I loved the ability to select points by closest proximity. Is that ever going to come back? Maybe as an option?

worst comes to worst

www.fatcow.com, 99 dollars a year, 1 GB storage, PHP, 30 GB bandwidth cap per month. If you need more storage, probably could get a server somewhere.. I do not recommend www.1and1.com, they are big on vendor-lockin and make the cancellation process long and drawn out, I think more to discourage peop...

YEah good story rocks, great graphics is just icing.

The problem with hollywood is they throw in gimmicks when the story sucks.. I think the biggest turkey of movies is spy kids 2.. Its in 3D, that's why I rented it, but it stunk so bad, no matter how good the 3D was, it wasn't worth seeing Sylvester Stalone and Ricardo Montalban make fools of themsel...

Ha

If he succeeds in selling it, I might try doing it as
well, it may exploit just how dumb the market is about
programs.. Exploit that theory that its not good if its free,
well is it good if you have to pay for it?

hmm

Oh yeah, it has no plugin api.. Wouldn't it be neat if blender had a plugin API for this sort of thing.. I guess eventually once the programmers get tired of patch the binary, that a plugin API will become interesting. I know the reasons against it is that it would make blender files dependent on pl...
