Perhaps you should scale everything down (a lot). Everything is going behind the viewport clipping - I guess that's your problem. For a sword (length usually around one meter) I would suggest a scale of one Blender unit which allows you detail right down to one millimeter. Remark on your other issue...

Extreme good idea! This would avoid quite a lot of context changes (switching between different objects) when editing particle systems and attributes of interacting objects. In addition, most attributes and values would be in one single view which increases visibility of needed options and making th...

What I meant is: What do you intend to do? It is simplier to explain (or answer) using an example. I just don't get where your problem lies and I can only guess that you want to have a single mesh object out of some primitives but you have created various objects instead of adding geometry to the on...

Re: BLENDER: that drive me crazy
That can't be true. How should I make that in the following way: Add two circles (add Mesh/circle) - connect vertices of both, and built a segment - add planes into it and place faces around - cut out the planes (to get holes)... I'm not sure what you want to do. If I add the second circle in editM...

Re: BLENDER: that drive me crazy
In editMO it's not possible the select two objects, there is displayed only one with the vertices. I finally found out what you meant! Kinda slow today... Yes, it is normal: In edit mode you can edit a single object at once! If you wish to edit another object then exit edit mode, select the other o...

Re: BLENDER: that drive me crazy
Well, if it was the other way round then it would be clear: You would have a joined mesh.
I haven't observed anything like that. Would you mind to post the .blend?

Re: QUESTION
Half mesh, half solid? Would you mind to post a screenshot? I don't know what you are asking.

*scratcheshishead* Are you familiar with the possibility to have various different custom screen layouts? I don't know, but it seems that the goal of your proposal is going into that direction. You've got a combo button on the top as GUI element and also can switch quickly using CTRL-CURSOR_LEFT/ _R...
